Title: HI Point answers the call with a 10mm carbine
Post by: SavageOne on September 19 2017 12:53:15 PM MDT
HI Point has announced that they will soon be offering their 95TS series carbine in 10mm. Just as Mossberg realized that those using their 500 shotguns and Raptor grips to create non NFA firearms would buy them ready made, HI Point answered the call from everyone who wanted a carbine like Iraqveteran8888 made. I haven't heard a release date yet, but I'm already squirreling away money.

Nonsense. They're inexpensive and unattractive but simple and reliable.

What a pile of poop. You ever own one? I had a 4095TS and it was fantastic and yea, I'm interested in the 1095TS.  :D

What I know about HiPoint is that while their guns are solid their magazines are the ones that causes problems. A tweak with a pair of pliers usually fixes it.

My 4095TS was loaded with Uw 40sw 155 XTP for HD. At the range this load smacked the targets around. Very deadly to baddies and easy to shoot.

Unattractive and simple? yes, reliable? No way...

I've owned six over the years, they all turned out to be paper weights within 2-3 months of buying them. All purchased brand new, meticulously cared for, all for naught. You can have that junk. I'll stick to my Glocks and HKs thank you..

Seems odd you would buy five more after the first one failed as you say. Seems odder you would purchase four more after the first two failed, and so on. Who knows though. If you did you did.

American Rifleman actually did a really complimentary review of Hi Point in the last few years. Not to say they're not influenced by advertising dollars but the review was really excellent.

In my defense, I had a buyer that didnt know the market or was driven by recouping his cost through nefarious means... that was in my 20s...

Well as a rhetorical question, how long ago were you in your 20s? Could be Hi Point has improved substantially since then. Just about any gun manufacturer has had its down years and the ones that survive get their act together while the others go the way of Dornaus & Dixon.

Well HP is not showing anything about a 10 on their website yet and a distributor I checked with shows the same so I suspect it will be a while. Probably a long while.

Hipoint carbines have always worked well for me .. Their customer service is second to none ...
I have owned at least a half a dozen off and on over the years ...
My brother once backed up his truck with my 9mm Hipoint on his lowered tailgait . It bounced off and was accidentally drove over .. breaking the stock at the wrist and badly damaging the receiver ..
This little carbine had had thousands and thousands of rounds shot through her ..
I called Hipoint to see if they could sell me a stock ... When I explained to them about what happped they asked me to ship the carbine to them ...
In 3 weeks it was back .. Basically a new carbine with my old serial # on it ... And a new sling .. and 3 mags.
Great people to deal with !

Interesting. I wish they would say something about the magazines it uses. Hopefully not their own proprietary version.

That has no meaning since there is no 10mm+P.

I suspect that is their improper way of saying it will handle Underwood/Bufalo Bore ammo.

All I can say is I once gave Hi Point a chance. It was the WORST POS pistol I ever got. I don't plan on giving them a second chance.
