Title: Remington R1 Hunter Slide Lockback Issue
Post by: 4949shooter on September 09 2017 06:17:41 AM MDT
See below video:

Anyone have any remedy for this? I am looking at picking up one of these guns, but want to know if this is an easy fix before I buy one.

Thanks..

Here is a very good discussion/review of the Remington 10mm.  It talks about the problem.

I wonder if Remington has already fixed it.

Well known issue.  The fix is to install an Ed Brown 10/40 slide stop.

Interesting...  I have one of the very late PARA USA made Hunters before the manufacturing was transferred to the Remington plant...have a couple hundred rounds through the gun of both factory and handloads with zero issues...

PS...that doesn't look like mid-magazine lockback...it looks like Failure to Feed issues...  That could be a magazine/ammo issue or not properly adjusted extractor...

ps..in looking at the video again it looks like some of both...  In reading the other threads about the problems with bullet noses engaging the slidestop tip, I have had that happen before but only with a .45...
