Title: The new Stock I
Post by: 01deuce on September 08 2017 02:10:02 PM MDT
As some of you may know  last year Tanfoglio  came out with a new Stock I configuration. I like many was very interested,  but eaa  decided  not to import  them along with there decision  not to import  the limited  pro any longer.

Well who needs them anyway!

I spoke with them today. Very nice people. This should be a very good thing for Tanfo lovers.

They only have a couple 10mm's left as of now.

Yea... very nice! In a smaller length, which being a DA/SA could make for a nice carry.

Picked  it up after work tonight. I had springs and some other things waiting  and I am making some changes tonight. I should get a chance  to see how it shoots  tommorw.

Pictures  are stock configuration.

Dot fixed rear sight? How do you like the finger grip on it? Looks like they made a few changes for sure!

Not the standard K10 magazines I guess?

Same K10 magazines (2 of them) , plain black  rear sight with dot indentations ( I guess if you wanted to fill them in)  and the rear sight is not steel. It appears to be aluminum.  conventional  rifling not polygonal.

Front strap finger grooves are perfect imo and  are very subtle.

I added  a 20lb hammer spring, 20lb recoil spring, extra power firing pin spring and EGW flat bottom firing pin stop.
Put  the extreme FO front sight from my gold match extreme ( put Dawson  Fo on it) standard ambi safety,Henning  grips and conefit guide rod .

This is the tightest fit of all my Tanfo's. It is very accurate and had no malfunctions.
I shot S&B fmj, Sig fmj and Underwood 165gr gold dots  all brass went from between 6 to 12 ft.

That's a pretty interesting concept! When looking at the rear sight do the dots draw your attention, or does it act more like a target rear sight? I guess for those wanting the dots just apply paint.

To me when shooting it just looks like a plain black sight.

Here are a couple pictures  of the stock I & stock III

I prefer my EAA guns in stainless. The black ones are prone to discoloration and the color scratching off. My witness hunter and standard witness both have holster wear. None of my stainless or wonderfinish models have marks. However the wonderfinsh is terrible if it gets wet. I had one get wet in a holster while hiking in the cascade mountains and it soaked up the dye from the holster. The black stains wouldn't come off. I actually had to take all of the wonderfinish off with a polishing wheel. Took it down to bare metal. Then it kept rusting. Had it cerakoted and sold it for $400.
