According to Wolff Gunsprings the standard is 17 pound, The 40 is the same as the 20.

The 20 and 40 do use the same exact spring... 17 lbs.

I put a 20 pound spring in my G40, so far I like it.

I put the Wolff non-captured RSA in my G20 with a 20 pound spring and I also tried a 22 pound spring.
For all around use I use the 20 lb. but for Underwood the 22 lb. works well.  It's too much for standard (S&B & Blazer) to function every-time.

Thank you. That helped. I'll try to get the 20lb spring or 20lb rsa. We are somewhat limited in parts availability in germany.
