Title: Kimber Super Jagare
Post by: tph247 on August 21 2017 11:12:27 AM MDT
I picked up the new Kimber Super Jagare 10mm last week.  I traded my Colt Delta Elite FDE which broke my heart a little but I had to have this.  Once I got it sighted in at 50 yards I was sold!  tight groups, and the felt recoil was completely tame by the porting.  Tough decision ahead for hog hunting between the Glock G40 and Kimber.

Here's an image from The Firearm Blog.

This wasn't on my radar.  Once again, Kimber offers a drop dead gorgeous pistol - they excel in this department.  I hope it shoots as well as it looks.

Leave it to Kimber to round butt/bobtail a long slide - it is a curiosity.  I mean ... makes perfect sense - if you are 7'6" or taller, it'll conceal like a dream ... maybe.  Whatever you do, try not to imagine what the guy that can appendix carry this pistol is shaped like.  And, given the weight of the long slide, I'm wondering why the ports.  Aren't the 6" 1911 platform pistols pretty easy on recoil impulse?

Thanks for the pic!  Well, the gun was only purchased for hunting (no appendix carry, ha ha).  It's just a lot lighter and more comfortable in the hand than my G40 mos, and I love shooting 1911s.  Quicker follow-up shots and less muzzle flip with the porting I guess.  I havn't shot it in low light but that could be interesting.  The bobtail grip is something I will have to get used to but it feels good.  Kimber did this to both of their new 2017 10mm guns.  I actually won a 10mm Kimber eclipse at a RMEF banquet.  I sold that to a buddy and bought a Colt Delta Elite for even money.  Then I saw the Super Jagare and felt like I had to have it, total impulse purchase!  I traded the Delta Elite and $500 to get it.  So, in the end I only have $500 into it.

Stopped at a gun shop while returning from an IDPA shoot. They had the Super Jagare and it is one of the best looking and feeling handguns I've ever seen.

Good buy!

I prefer the round butt over the standard grip. I have a Sig Nightmare Carry and shoot it very well. That looks like a great purpose built gun, and it's not self defense. [emoji1303]
