Title: 10mm 180gr XTP with Power Pistol loads
Post by: Kenk on August 12 2017 05:14:49 PM MDT
I understand this may be on the lower end, but are some of you folks staying in the 8-9gr range when loading 10mm 180gr XTP with Power Pistol? I've loaded .45 auto, and 9's for years, but am new to 10mm. I am running a stock G20 gen 4
Thanks in advance

Kenk. welcome to the forum!  I have loaded Power Pistol up to 10.0 grains hand weighed and verified...based on other loads others were doing and some commercial pull downs...
Tested in 10mm S&W1006 5" 1349 fps June 8, 2013.  Case expanded to 0.4275", primer slightly flattened, case shows some stress.

Nice, I am hoping at some point to get close to duplicating some of Underwoods loads, some of my favorite carry / hunting ammo
Thanks again, I have much to learn & look forward to it

Ken just be sure to work your way up and verify your ammo in your gun as setup.  Some of the pull downs go back to a time where the upper limits were being pushed and things had to be right with the guns, recoil systems and brass...
Be safe!
