Hi All,
First time poster, may be getting addicted to the 10 mm!
I have been looking into a 1911 in 10 mm, a local shop has a STI Nitro double stack for $1900.00. I see it has been discontinued so there must be a reason for that. Its a beautiful gun but not sure if worth the money compared to RIA, which has mixed reviews. I am unsure why the Nitro has discontinued and concerned about parts/mags (expensive) if needed in future.
I have ONE opportunity to get a 10 mm in 1911 and have to do it right without dumping more money into it for customization. I like idea of double stack mags but not a breaking point. It will be a carry gun so dependably is a must.
I have G20, looking at Ruger, DW, RIA, STI, Colt, its good to have options. What else am I missing?
Should I jump on Nitro?
Thanks
Huck
Welcome aboard Huckleberry. I think any of those would be a fine choice. Don't leave out EAA's 10mm options which I feel are an excellent choice for the money.

FYI, NIB sti nitro double stack on arms list run from $1600-2200
my RIA ultro pro match 6" HC has been great for me so far, only real issue I have had is a slightly tight extractor (easy no cost fix)- they have DS 5" and SS 5" options also
the double stack 10mm's from RIA are heavy, the sti would be lighter as it has the lower polymer frame with the upper steel frame
since you said double stack is not a deal breaker then ruger and remington are also options, depending on your price point there is also WC, dan wesson, kimber, sig, colt, eaa, para, ed brown has a LS in 10mm, not sure if he has a shorter barrel option
