Question...i have several thousand 115 grain berry's plated .356" plated bullets that I have a nice load for 5 different 9mm pistols.
I also have about 1000 .357" 125gr fp berry's plated bullets that were supposed to be for 38spl/357 mag....problem is I shoot them waaay too fast in my 357 mag for the rated 1250 fps max (due to the thin coating) --- I'll probably never use them up in a 38 spl.....would you recomend I use them in my 9mm's?
My slugged 9mm barrels range from .3535"(pm9) to ..356"(shield) depending on gun...this is just for range practice
What say you? Anyone ever used a .357" plated bullet for 9mm?

I have shot several 0.357" jacket bullet from the LWD 357Sig and 9x25 Dillon barrels no issues except when brass decides to split for whatever reason during reuse...The case life for 9x25 is short lived in most instances... :( Fatigue and work hardening.
I have never done it, but I know of quite a few guys shooting 357 bullets in the Super 38's.
It can't be much different.
thanks--- I was most concerned with 2 of my pistols due to their slugged size ---my PM9 is .3535", and my gen 1 17L is .354" ( both if those also being poly rifling) --- my s&w's and my ruger come in at .355-.356" so not too worried about those
didn't know if the tighter bore would show either excess copper fouling, or make the copper plating come loose while shooting ---might just give them a try to see how they work out
I have not done it with Berry's plated bullets, but I have done it with hardcast and jacketed bullets. I resize those to 0.356" with a Lee sizing die and Hornady Case Lube. I have not tried to resize plated bullets.
Plated bullets are usually made from softer lead than hardcast bullets. You can probably shoot the Berrys bullets without resizing them if the brass case doesn't strip off the thin copper plating as the bullet is being pressed into the case.

Tried some of my 125 grain .357" (38) bullets in my 9mm today...decent groups, no issues
I have shot many thousands of .357 9mm bullets out of my Glocks (oem and Storm Lake bbls). Specifically the 147gr FP that looks like a milk bottle. Going from .356 to .357 with hard cast bullets gives a better seal (all things being equal though it may not be necessary) and better accuracy. Don't think it is an always or never thing but has worked for me. I believe plated bullets are pure lead or at least very soft and that favors a slightly oversize bullet.
