I hadn't expected to go hunting with the new glock 40 yet so all i had was some sellior and bellot 180 gr. Fmj that i had been practicing with. The hog stepped out of the bushes at about 25yds turned and faced me. I aimed at the hogs right eye. The first shot hit just below the eye traveled through the face and neck and ended up in the lungs. The second shot hit the elbow as the hog turned and started to run, i was trying to get another one in him as he ran off. There was only 2 drops of blood on the trail because of how the first bullet entered. We found him by following kicked up dirt and leaves. He only traveled about 35 to 40 yds.

Very nice indeed and congratulations!  You did your friend a favor by wacking that big nasty beast and getting him off the property.  Turning to face you after stepping out from cover was a pretty aggressive move, he very well may have been sizing you up for a charge.  Very nice shot at 25 yards with a handgun.  After the natural adrenaline rush of being face to face with a big bruiser like that flashes through you, it's anything but easy to land a clean shot with a pistol.  I've seen otherwise good hunters armed with rifles fumble the shot at similar distances and situations.

This was my first big game animal with a pistol and I got to share the experience with my son, he was hunting with me when I shot the hog. He was very exited to because it was the first wild hog he has ever seen.

I've been hunting whitetail all my life, and with a .44 mag for the last 25 years. If one of the previous posts is correct in that a 10mm has over 1,000fps and 500+ ft/lbs at 100 yards, then I would have no problem taking a 100 yard shot. I'm confident I could make a good shot at 100 yards though b/c I've been hunting with a handgun for a LONG time. If you can make the shot, the 10mm is capable of making the kill.

Wow!  Great shot.  Great hog.  And you got to share it with your son.  It's hard to make a day any better!
