Title: Slide release
Post by: Mjolnir74 on June 21 2017 11:20:20 AM MDT
Does anyone else use a .45 slide release in their 10mm 1911? I had a lot of early lockback issues and switched to a .45 slide release. The slide locks back on empty now. The .45 gives more clearance if the bullets get jostled I guess. Is this normal?

I haven't heard that. I have had no issues with the factory slide releases in my guns. Good to know that the slightly shorter 45 release works.

It works with Tripp Cobra and factory mags.

Nothing add here.  And, I promise that I managed to keep my thoughts to myself the first time this thread showed up.

But ...

It is a slide stop.  1911s don't have slide releases.  I do understand that disengaging the slide stop does release the slide - this only happens because it stops stopping the slide when disengaged.

You might be annoyed, but I do feel better now  :P.

Haha, I only called it that because Wilson Combat has it listed that way. I've always called it a slide stop in the past. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170623/febdf62c2fcd31c785e40bcd975ea312.png)
