Is a 5 gallon bucket of water enough to stop a regular pressure 147gr HST from a G43?
Don't think so but a 5 gallon bucket of sand will. .... Done many times
It will bust the bucket to pieces if shot straight down into it. It can take as much as 5 one gallon jugs in a line to capture a JHP and solids can take much more...depending on speed and bullet composition.
The wife wants an expanded HST
5 gallon bucket of water holds about 14" if filled to the top... I think it might work... I'd lay 3 to 2 odds it would work without busting your bucket. 100% chance of getting soaked though.
I got my expanded 9mm 147gr HST bullet by shooting it into five 1 gallon jugs... Think I found it in the 3rd jug.

Do you have a picture of your 147gr?

Very nice. Maybe I'll try to get me a FlexLock. I love how they look when properly expanded.
That looks good!
