I know about Glock 29, 29SF, 20, 20SF and 40 models.
Who else makes a polymer 10mm ?
I see EAA has a 4.5" and just curious about trying it because of the lower bore axis'.
What says the community ?
EAA does offer a polymer version of the Witness. Many of our members have them. The 4.5" barrel version is as good as the steel full size Witness. I think some users have had additional teething pains with the compact models, while others have not.
I don't think the Witness Poly will offer a lower bore axis than the Glock.
There is also the Grand Power guns, which follow the S&W M&P pattern of a steel sub-frame that holds all the "guts" with a polymer frame that provides grip, magwell, and a housing for the sub-frame. This gun also utilizes a non-browning style locking mechanism. Some users are having good experiences with them, others not as much.
It appears from the illistration of the polymer witness, the front sight is part of the frame ?
If so, no good as I like night sights and milling a dove tail in can be costly.
I think you meant part of the slide, not frame.
You are correct, the sight is not a dovetail. It appears on my gun to be cast into the frame. However, the typical costs I see to mill a dovetail are $20-$30, usually including fitting your sight.

Do you have a contact for someone that can mill a dovetail as the cheapest around here is $150, I found

After much debate, I think that I'll wait until Springfield releases the XDM in 10mm
That may require a long lifetime.
I have plenty of firearms to play with in the meantime.

I am close to picking up a Glock 20 or 40 but I am very intrigued by a new Springfield. I currently have a Sig P220 Hunter so there is no harm is waiting another couple of months to see if anything happens.
I had a G20 with a KKM barrel, Trijicon HD NS, and an after market 20lb recoil spring. I didn't run into any issues until over 500 rounds (much higher but loss count) of full power ammo (1300-1400 fps 180gr). Glock took care of it so no hard feelings but that is why I run an RIA, Ultra Pro HC 6", model 52000. However, at 3lbs unloaded, it's not ideal for a backup in the woods.
Lesson learned so my next polymer will be my back up with loads running at 1200-1250 fps and will carry the RIA 6" with 200grainers running at 1300fps for actual hunting in heavy dense wooded areas (yaupons, briars, etc) where a rifle is less than ideal. If I need more pistol than that, I will carry a Ruger Redhawk 5.5" in 44 mag.
PS: Springfield gives a decent package deal on thier XD models for the dollar IMHO so I'll wait.

Not a hater and certainly not a glock fanboy. But I'll believe the XDM when I see it. We have had other companies tell us that they were working on ones with functional units in hand and never get them on the shelves. Springfield hasn't shown anything for this.
That said, Im in as soon as it appears, I want a polymer 10mm and refuse to purchase anything glock. Ick! Bonus points if springfield has the cahonies to release an XDS mod 2 10mm. Instant (not precluding reliability testing) new EDC.

Ruger made no noise, then BAM - SR1911 in 10mm.
I think they got that the 10mm market is too jaded to believe anything but a gun in hand.

That's pretty dumb for a comment. Personally I've never owned a Glock so I guess I'm not a fan boy. Hater? What in the world does that mean? Haters of what? Of Springfield? How does that happen? I've never owned one of them either. I do know that several 10s have been promised but have yet to appear and probably never will. I'll believe they'll actually make one when they've made one. Seems a realistic approach to me.
