Title: G40 MOS
Post by: RiverMan on June 03 2017 06:01:41 PM MDT
I just purchased my first Glock, a a G40 Gen4, MOS. Beware! In trying to mount my RMR, I stripped the screws and screw holes in the mounting plate. It seems that Glock does not supply quite long enough screws to mount the sight. After a call to Trijicon, I found out that they offer a kit with the correct length screws, $17.00 on amazon and another $20.00 plus shipping to Glock for another mounting plate kit. It's just a little aggravating to say the least. I hope this will save someone some aggravation and a few dollars. By the way, thanks for the add.

13.2 inch pounds (1.1 foot pounds) is the torque spec for the mounting plate to the slide.

The spec for mounting the optic to the plate will vary based on optic manufacturer... But most will be 15-25 inch pounds.

I broke one of the screws that go to the mounting plate on mine too, tried to torque it to 20 inch pounds.... Popped the head right off it.

The specs I quoted above are direct from Glock.

You can order just the screws... No need for another whole kit.

I ordered new screws from BattleWorx I think.... They were like $5 shipped.

In trying to mount thr Rmr, I stripped the screw holes in the plate. I wasn't able to find just the Rmr plate, had to buy the whole kit.

Got the parts on order. Should be here this coming week. Got 500 rounds of Sellier&Belloit 180g fmj coming to break it in and smooth it down a little, hopefully.
