This is kind of a funny story now, but at the time I had to walk away...I don't argue with idiots.... Here goes....
The Wife and I were out visiting some family grave sites, placing flowers/ paying our respects and I stopped by a LGS near my hometown. I picked up some cheap Armscorp 10mm. While paying for it the clerk asked if I was from around here because no one she knew had a 10, I said I grew up near here but now lived in the city. The only other customer in the store said I hear the 10 is making a comeback, I said yes there are more companies making them now. About that time the shop owner spoke up saying the 10 is a dyeing cartridge and no one makes 10mm pistols anymore :o :o, I couldn't believe what I just heard. I politely replied that there are several now and a lot more than in 1994 when I bought my first one. Again he insist no one makes them and asked me to name one. The other customer and I both said GLOCK, He quickly replied no they don't make them any more. I jokingly asked "when did they stop" he said a few years ago..., We went back and forth a couple times then I said COLT. Again almost cutting me off.. NO they haven't made those in years. I politely informed him I had bought a NEW one just last November. He stammered and mumbled well they must of just started back making them again.
This was the point in the conversation when I realized that there was no convincing him. I continued to name manufacturers and every time he would cut me off by saying "nope don't make any" even the other customer named a few. At that point I just smiled thanked them for the good deal on the ammo and walked away . When I got in the car I started laughing and told my wife that I almost got into an argument with the owner, I told her what had happened and that I was shocked a gun store owner could be so un-informed....
Sorry for the long winded story but I figured you guys would get a good laugh out of this. I would have returned the ammo but at 23 bucks a box I just couldn't pass it up.
I almost forgot, at the tail end of the conversation he said if he had a Ten in stock he couldn't sell it for $250. I almost replied to that with my phone # but thought better of it.
Sadly it's more common than you'd think. They're more like clerks rather than ex-cops, gun instructors, gun nuts, armorers, etc.
Didn't ya know they stopped making them years ago...
A couple months ago I was picking up 1923 S&W target model with my boss who was picking up a S&W model 19 when I started looking at cleaning kits. The shop owner can over and asked what we were looking for. I told him a .22lr cleaning kit. He looked around and couldn't find any even though they had .223 cleaning kits right front and center. I told him the .223 would work but it looked pretty cheap. He explained to me that you couldn't use a .223 cleaning kit on .22 or since they're completely different calibers... I asked him the bore diameter of each and he had no idea. This was the store owner.
The 10mm is dead, Trump will never be president, and the world is flat.
I would never go to that place again. What a tool!
Some people are stubborn. I mean stubbornly stupid.
I think the clue was the clerk said no one buys 10mm ammo there (may be true-ish). So the owner is just cranky about sitting on inventory and his brain swelled and locked up. As in "no one makes 10mm guns". ;D :D :)) :-X
I still can't believe that I resisted pulling out my gen4 Glock 29 and instantly prove him wrong!

Careful, he'll be so jelly if you did. ;D
Lol, ... just a little "show and tell" ... ;nothing to get nervous about. ;D
he's faint if he saw the new Sig 220-10 I just got.
OP, please post the name of the store. Then we can each email the owner with links to 10mm firearms, and even keep him updated as new ones hit the market.
Here you go , have fun everyone!

Wait......two clicks into your link brings me here: http://gunmanjim.com/catalog.semi-automatic-handguns?&caliber=58
Wow, sorry...I just googled the name of the shop and didn't follow up. I will investigate further.

Apparently there is one in Illinois also. I was at the one in Missouri. Jim is the proprietor, I believe his wife is who I bought the ammo from. They also have a Facebook page.

Huh? Sorry for what?? In his own link - the guy sells a plethora of 10mm guns!!
I know a lot of these stores websites basically link to distributors lists, so I doubt these guys actually have these guns in stock.
But that is rich that the owner says the 10 is dead, and no new guns are being made, yet the website shows new stock for sale.

The fact that the selection isn't half bad is just gravy!
The Missouri location is small, I estimate 1k sq.ft. Max. The in stock handgun selection was disappointing at best. Luckily I don't have to depend on him as source. The website pictures most likely are the Illinois location.
Yep, and the 45 GAP won't make it 3 years lol I love the 45 GAP too BTW.

My extended family is back in Illinois and Indiana. Usually we trek across Missouri on 36, but next time I may have to exit the 29 at Rockport and take 136 across to Keokuk just so I can visit these guys.
Lol, enter at your own risk! I was telling my brother about it and he said that the guy has good sales on Rugers so I figure since Ruger doesn't make a 10 he doesn't recognize them.
Before my Dad passed he lived in Kahoka for years. Beautiful country and great hunting up there.
Ruger needs a 10mm. Stat. ;D
Ruger made a 10mm......a Blackhawk convertible 38-40 and 10mm in separate cylinders
Don't remind me. I almost bought one at a fun show. But I was thinking 10mm rifle. 8)
That would indeed be a most excellent addition to the Colt line
This is very common. Last year in Florida I went into a gun to store to pick up some 10mm ammo for a last minute range visit. I purchased the few boxes he had. After quizzing me on why I'd want to buy ammo for a dead cartridge, I asked him if I could see the Glock 40 under the glass. He said sure but "it's not 10mm. Its a .40 S&W that's why they call it a Glock 40." :o
Welcome to retail in the USA.
Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right.......that about sums it up!
Glock makes/offers 5 different 10mm guns. They use to have more.
Glock 20 Gen 3 Standard Size (no longer being made)
Glock 20 Gen 3 SF Short Frame
Glock 20 Gen 4
Glock 29 Gen 3 SF Short Frame
Glock 29 Gen 4
Glock 40 Gen 4
They may have also offered the Glock 29 Gen 3 in a Standard Frame.
.
The 29 did come in standard frame.
By the way, Ruger makes that 10mm now

Next time I'm I am up there I'll stop in an ask why Ruger would make a pistol for a "dieing" cartridge.

Ask them why Glock, Colt, Dan Wesson, Sig, and Ruger are making them.
I wish I could have been there when Ruger announced their SR1911 10mm!
