So I've owned a dozen or more 10's in my day. My favorites continue to be the Smith 10 series. Built like a tank, look and feel great in the hand. And will take thousands of rounds of full nuke loads. Not many 10's can say that actually. What's your thoughts?

I love the S&W 10mm's. I had two of them, a 1076 and 1066 I believe. Both great guns, but I sold them when parts were basically discontinued. A real shame.
Sadly, mine have been safe queens for that reason. Mags routinely hit 80.00 to 100.00 a piece now. And I've worn so many out over the years of shooting. It's one reason I've purchased a new Grand Power , and will be ordering a Eitness p match...More capacity and readily available parts. But the old 10 series in my safe put a smile on my face every time I take them out and fondle them.
The LGS I go to, one of the salesmen there has the Smith and he said because of parts, he doesn't shoot his any more. This is one reason why at this point in time I only have the Glock's. Ugly but they work and parts will always be around as will the magazines. I have my G40 for hunting/woods carry. I have my G20 for ccw. And now that I think of it...the Glock's are not that ugly. :))
I've had my 1026 out twice this month. Still hands down my favorite. ...While searching for some misc. parts for a newly acquired 4006 ...I came across some 1026 parts. I ordered a few parts for it. Just enough to get me shooting it more. I would like to find a new barrel, does anyone know of any companies making replacements for the 1026?
Yep the Smith and Wessons hold a special place, as I started with the 1006 early 1990 added a Bar-Sto match grade 40S&W and 9x25 Dillon conversion barrels and obtained the 1076, 1066, 1026, 1046 and 2 1086's to add to my collection. However with S&W dropping parts availability, I moved to shooting the Glock 29 and 20SF more these days.
Then I longed to get the Vltor/Fortis Bren Ten to the point of Per-Paid Order with the local Bass Pro which never materialized. After that money was on hold for 1 year, I canceled and retrieved my money back.
While my money was on hold I was offered a MP5-10 clone at a great price, but passed.
Then a local fellow I met on a local gun forum, showed up with a real Bren Ten Standard Model in excellent condition with one magazine for sale. I quickly jumped on that procurement, just because it was the only one I have seen here.
I think the 1006 is still my all time favorite shooter of all of them. ;D
Even though the OP was asking about pistols,my favorite is my 610 revolver followed by my 1006.

Actually any favorite 10 is good by me.
My Glock 20 is probably my favorite pistol. I have several options when it comes to handguns, but most often the 20 is the one I choose. I've owned the G20 for about 14 years, I have my 29 for about 16. In the past year I've acquired an STI Nitro 10 and last moth going through a local shop I like, the owner brought out an almost new G40 he had just taken in as a trade. So I'll pick that up in the near future.
Owned a G20 for a few weeks and I couldn't stand it
The Grip Angle was so unnatural, I couldn't shoot it
Was able to trade it (plus $100.00) for a NIB Delta Gold Cup
I love the thing
Always wanted the SA, Peter Stahl Omega but couldn't find one
And when I did find one, I couldn't afford it
Have and carry a 10mm Witness Semi-Compact (with a 10mm Longslide Conversion Upper)
Outstanding shooter in either length
The MG-20 (MechTech / Glock 20) is a GREAT Firearm
Some folks may call it a novelity, but the accuracy is amazing and the fun factor is off the charts
I am almost tempted to buy another G20 or G40 to pair with it

You have good taste in 10's! I've owned several 10's over the years . Such as all the S&W 10 series. Currently have 3. H&K MP 5 10mm clone, Glock 20, IAI Javalina, Star Megastar 10mm, and Colt Delta Elite. Latest 10 favorite is my Thureon Defense carbine. Future 10's will be XDM and Witness P match pro DA/SA.
My first 10mm was a Witness Steel. Loved it, but had to part with it (as with several of the following) for medical bill purposes - premature twins can really gut an income!
Next was a Witness Match - also a great gun.
Then a Glock 20. Glocks always feel funny, but man, nothing stopped that thing.
Currently I'm down to my DW Razorback. Absolutely love this gun. My only problem is that it was a birthday present from my wife, so I tend to treat it a little gingerly (I don't like safe-queens, but this one has some sentimental value). Of all the 10's I've owned, the Razorback has been my favorite - reliability issues and all.
Next up will be something (probably) polymer and (definitely) less valuable to me in sentiment: a 20sf, a Witness P or Witness P Match Pro (if the unicorn ever fully appears), or maybe the XD(M) in 10mm if it makes the fabled jump from 10mm Announcement-Land to Reality (funny how many 10mm's are announced, and then never materialize. Have I offended the 10mm gods somehow?).
I've handled the Smith 10's. I wish they'd make them again. I'd go for one in a heart beat.
I hope Smith gets a clue from Springfield and brings back some 10's!

How cool would that be?
I have 2 Sig P220's in 10mm that are my favorite shooters.
I have one, a great gun. Now I feel the need to shoot it tomorrow.
I love my 10mm Glocks. Have had all three although I parted ways with the 20 to help fund the 40. My true favorite of all my tens is my Tangfoglio elite match. What a great shooter it is.
My first and best 10 was my first Bren Ten that I acquired back in the mid eighties. After that, every thing else has been disappointing for me, except for my SW 610 Classic. Since I have long retired my Brens due to potential slide cracking, the 610 is just plain fun and relaxing. And I'm not even a revolver guy!
Years back when I had a job and money I searched hard for a Witness Hunter and I couldn't find one. Now I see them at every gun show. If I am ever able to get one I sure hope that it is not a disappointment like every thing else.
Everything I hear about them is positive.
Back in the 90's I got in on an order for one of the FBI commemorative 1076 pistols that S&W offered to LEO's after a local FBI agent notified my agency about them (about the time FBI dropped the 1076). I never did like the ergonomics of S&W pistols (the strange flat, plastic grips and that safety located right in the middle of the slide where you grip it to chamber rounds, and I especially hated that crappy empty magazine/trigger disconnector like they have on BHP pistols) so I ended up selling it.
Later I got in on the Grey Guns Sig P220 .45 ACP conversion to 10mm project that took 2 years to finally get the completed gun. I was disappointed with it because they advised to refrain from using a steady diet of full house 10mm loads, because the P220 could not take it. I sold that pistol. I really wanted one of the upcoming VLTOR Bren Ten 10mm pistols which collapsed. I ended up with a NHC 10mm pistol which is my edc pistol. It seems to handle full house Underwood Ammo 10mm rounds very well.
Gen 3 G20. Would like to see the CZ line in 10mm.

+1000!!!
I just recently purchased a 1006 and it's becoming my favorite pistol. I've been scouring the net for mags, parts, etc. I was lucky, I paid $775 for the gun with 3 mags and the box. Just a few very minor shiny marks on the lest side. Other than that, appears LNIB.
At least I think I did pretty good. My previous experience was a 659 that I never should have sold..!
It's a shame S&W is not supporting some of the BEST semi-auto pistols they ever made.
Yes Southrnshooter the 10xx series guns were very strong and held up well even with use. It would be nice if parts were still available for these fine shooters! I started my 10mm addiction with the S&W1006 early 1990 and have handloaded for it since day one, developed some loads before they were printed!
I wish Bar-Sto still made barrels for them as well.
I love my black Dan Wesson Bruin. Absolutely fantastic gun. I plan to take a few wild hogs and perhaps a deer or two with it.

I'm curious about what you said, you had a G20 and hated it but now you are tempted to buy another.
I have a G20 and really enjoy shooting it. If I get drawn I'll probably take it Javalina hunting this fall.
I agree on the Colt comment, I have a Delta and love shooting it.
Love all my 10s, but the G40...by far the sweetest shooting handgun that i have ever owned, 10mm or otherwise...that includes both 610s (4" & 6 1/2"). The 4" 610 was my woods carry, but it has been replaced by the G40 unless i plan on shooting stout reloads.
A G29 is the winter carry piece.

I hope so too. Especially the 610, which would be as simple as machining and rifling the existing N frame for 10mm. The clods running S&W must be unaware of the $1500+ 610s on GB

Smith is not going to do any 10mm anytime soon. There is somebody there from the original 10mm project that has got major bad feelings about it. To the point that their reps asking the company to respond to the resurgent 10mm demand at sales meetings have been told that if they continue to bring it up, it will be a career ending move.

Wow.
That is some serious prejudice that a company would fire a sales rep for telling the company what sells. Not saying it doesn't happen, just illustrates the depth of the prejudice in some people.
I will say that every time a major manufacture post about their new firearms 9mm, 45ACP, 1911 and yes Vltor's pounding of AR stuff, I make nice little post about the 10mm cartridge its ballistics and how nice it would be if they made a new 10mm offering! Yes I post on the S&W's FB page often about making another fine 10mm pistol, but they are stuck on making 9mm guns. :(
Especially the Bren Ten that VLTOR was going to make, so much so, that it even got the attention of Eric Kincel who left Vltor and went to BCM. He actually messaged me thanking me for the persistent push of bringing the Bren Ten to market.
I am doing my part especially on those Facebook pages for new 10mm offerings... ;D
