Title: armscor vs starline
Post by: matt85 on March 12 2017 09:42:35 PM MDT
hello all, I just purchased a G20sf and will want to start hand loading practice ammunition. I believe in practicing with what you will be using for self defense so my loads will be full pressure 10mm (just with an inexpensive bullet).

grafs has both armscor and starline brass available and I was wondering how much of a difference in quality there was between the two. armscor is less expensive if you buy less then 1000 cases from grafs while starline is less expensive if you buy 1000+ cases strait from them.

any one compare the two? which is better brass?

thank you
-Matt

Starline all the way IMHO.  But, I always buy 1K at a time anyway since 10mm is harder to recover due to the energetic ejection.

I would go with Starline. I have used there brass in everything I shoot except .380 I just got 400 brass in .38 Super from Midway and was not disapointed.
Oh and when I do shoot any of my 10s I will lose 10% to 15 % of my brass, it just can be helped.

Still reminds me when we had that group buy here to get a barrel of Starline nickel plated 10mm brass. Wish we could do that again. Think I only got about 500.

-Matt, Welcome to the forum...Congrats with the G-20SF.  I went with non captive recoil rod & springs with mine.

Starline brass is made as a quality reloader's brass.  They are purposely left softer so they don't work harden as fast and that extends the reloading uses over time!

Armscor is questionable in my opinion!

Welcome, Good luck & enjoy your Glock!

Starline makes up 99.9% of my brass. Nothing better IMO.

Surprised no one said Starline.

I'll be the black sheep, Starline hands down :)

So Matt85, did you get your brass? I've always bought a 1K of Starline at a time, directly from Starline.

before I bought the bulk Starline brass, I stumbled across a deal on gunbroker for once fired assorted range brass. Starline is good stuff but this once fired brass was too inexpensive to pass up. I got 2225 mixed head stamp cases for $250 shipped. the brass came deprimed, cleaned, and in excellent shape.

I agree with you Matt on the once fired being too inexpensive to pass up.  Have some Starline, but will shoot the mixed head stamp also.  I do a vey thourgh inspection of all my brass regardless of headstamp and discard anything that is questionable.

That was a good deal, I'd have been hard pressed to pass it up also.

Way back when before fleabay got all PC and stopped people from selling brass, I was getting some police range 10mm brass from a seller there. Ebay lost a lot of money in fees because the owner went all Libtard.
