Title: Kimber stainless target II
Post by: Ten Ten on January 31 2017 08:18:26 PM MST
It has taken 500 rounds to keep from jamming up, fail to feed, but my Kimber ST II seems to like the speer 180gr. TMJ's the best so far

11 grs of blue dot with WLP, starline brass and c.o.l. of 1.250   22lbs spring

advertised at 1295 fps in speer load data...

35yrds or so...

Your Pistol must have come off the line at the same time as mine. Still struggling to get a whole range session without a FTF. Welcome.

I guess I was lucky as mine only needed about 10 rounds to break in and now all is fine. I just don't shoot it as much as I would like.   :(Craig

That looks like the West Coast Sierras (California-ish).

Where is the picture of the gun?

Just received a pulled order of Hydra Shok JHP from American Reloading. Weird sizes but will load some 180 and also got a few 130g. I may load those to kind of get rid of them. Anybody got any data for Power Pistol?? I haven't looked to far yet but Allient doesn't have it listed on line but I load light anyway and these will be for the Kimber target II.  My plan was to use these for defense but have enough for testing and want to get rid of the light ones that I only got a few of anyway. I will report back if i find any data.  Craig

Just reread my order and it is close  to what I got. Supposed to be 180,165,155, and 135g. The 135's kind of through me as I wasn't expecting that size but I will shoot them as I only got 20 or so anyway. No data yet but there is 155g so I can work down from there.  Craig 8)

Handloads.com has the data so not to worry. More powder than I would use to start anyway.  Craig

You may have an old address. It's now "guickdrawnot@gmail.com"  no quotes.  Thanks  Craig. I just checked and it not there yet. Handloads has data for the 135 and I have loaded this before I think. Not the HS's but the same weight, I think it would be JHP data anyway. Thanks for the help anyway  Craig

Well loaded the 135g HS at 10g power pistol so we will see how it does!! I was going to load it at 8.5 but figured with only 13 rounds I would test 3 and keep the rest for defense.   :o Craig

Thanks Shadow for the data I think you may have an old email address. Thus the peoblems sending it to me. Thanks for effort anyway.  Craig

OK shot the 135g loads today with 10.0g power pistol and all went great! Compared them to other loads I have and these were more powerful as they should have been as they were loaded hotter. The Target II had no issues at all with feeding or any other issues. I only shot 5 rounds but all went super. Accuracy was as good as any of my 10mm rounds. I couldn't be anymore pleased. Well on to the other rounds155g, 165g, and 180g will keep you all posted.  Craig  :-\

Craig, Sounds like they did what they were made to do!  I like Power Pistol and the even newer BE-86 powder as well.
Take good care!  :D

I've had good luck with my Kimber Stainless Target II 10mm. Sorry to hear others haven't fared as well.  An article in Hanloader magazine used a STII for extensive 10mm load development without issue.

Nice pics and posts...hope your gun is running 100% now...

I bought a STII in .38 Super in about 2003...one of the best Supers I ever had.  Sold it to a friend who loved it in 2005 and always regretted selling it...  In 2016 I told him is he ever wanted to sell the gun I would buy it back.  He said he had only shot it once and he sold it back to me...

In 2016 I got the 10mm Bug and bought a 10mm STII...  It was used but like new in the box.  It also ran 100% and very accurate. Some Kimber barrels in .38 Super, 10mm and .40 S&W came up for sale on the S&W Forums and I bought them all.  During some research I found out that Kimber uses the same breachface cut for both the 9mm and 10mm slides...

So now I have two identical multi-caliber pistols...

I think these are the best bargain for a target sighted 10mm out there...
