Hello!
I'm new from Russia!
I've tried .45, as I remember it was 1911 Kimber. (in US, but it also available in Russia). 10mm is terra incognita in Russia. Only .40 available in Russia. But the 9mm is most popular (for sportsmen only, no CCW or selfdefence)
But I've never tried 10mm, so a bit of lack of me.
I consider .45 do it job well, but it too slow.
10mm is contrary fast.
Slow bullet were in era of smoke powder. Nitro smokeles powder allows achive hight muzzle velocities. Modern 9mm hollow point bullets with modern powder load are almost enought for the self defence or law enforsement tasks. But 10mm still more powerfull.
Russian gun regulation laws are very strict. No handguns.
Welcome aboard russian. :D
I wouldn't knock the 45acp as for being slow and heavy, we don't call them flying ashtrays for nothing. They do the job quite well.
I carry a 10mm pistol but it's loaded with 40sw for ease of shooting in an SD situation. 10mm (and 9x25 Dillon) are rather powerful and takes practice to handle them. I have yet to control them.
As to your laws you (and others) as a citizen are at a disadvantage because bad guys will have guns, so should you. Your law makers needs another look at this.
? ?????? ?????? ?????
In fact, that is all I know! My wife visited before the fall of the Soviet Union. She spend about 8 weeks in the USSR as an exchange student. She still speaks fondly of visiting you land.
Welcome aboard!
Hello and welcome Russian! It isn't often we get people for your country but I suppose it is because of the strict firearms policies and laws. With many of the newer powders that have come to our markets it has pushed the limits of performance in many cartridges especially the 9mm and this has also transcended to our favorite the 10mm.
Our politics has tried to push the control agendas but seeing President Trump is in there this should stabilize our rights and laws for years to come. He seems like he wants a good relationship for our two countries as well.
Hope you like our forum and best regards! :D
Welcome to the forum Russian. :)
My many thanks!
The next article shows that all my questions and sugestions have only theoretical intention
Unfortunately it tooks too much money to have some practice skill in Russia. Because of common low level of life.
Shooting ranges espessially in Moscow are available.
Self defence situations is worth. Carry and owe handguns are forbidden. For carry allowed rubber shouting guns, what are special police tool in all countries. They are not deadly, but ineffective. And, if it's not dangerous, people shoot in the streets, what is really disgusting. So the gun culture is very low in russia. People when see the gun don't respect and even don't afraid of guns, because most of them is just rubber-shooting toys. Mostly people uses them in trafic accident situations. It's against the law, but if it's not deadly, police don't pay attention it much. IMHO rubber defence gun can help you in some scenarios, with using pepper spray, knife, electric chocker. In some scenarion, for example offence with gun it is useless.

LOL! Back to school mate. :P
LIke I ever studied Russian in Rural Indiana in the 1980's. I learned the phrase orally from my wife, and used Google to find the russian words. The phrase, as I am told, means "I speak Russian poorly", which given the need of correction means I got is just right ;D
Too bad the basic human right of defense of self isn't respected in your country Russian. If I ever visit Moscow, which is actually likely in the next couple of years, I will PM you and maybe we can meet up!
