Title: Congressman finally proposing new law to make countries take theeir deported ali
Post by: inv136 on January 17 2017 09:08:19 PM MST
For many decades the US (and more specifically the US State Dept.) has done nothing about the problem of deporting aliens back to countries that refuse to accept them. Aliens that have been convicted of crimes in the US have been ordered deported by Immigration Judges and then a travel document is requested from the alien's country of citizenship. However, there are a number of countries that refuse to issue travel documents so their citizens can be sent back home. This was getting so bad that congress passed legislation that mandated that a criminal alien who had been convicted of an "Aggravated Felony," had served his time in prison and was released to custody of (then I&NS) ICE, would be ordered deported (aggravated felony conviction doesn't require an Immigration Judge's Order of Deportation with the attendant Deportation Hearing) with just an Administrative Deportation Order, and then he would be deported after the required travel documents were obtained from his embassy.

In the cases where the alien's country of citizenship refused to issue travel documents, the law mandated that (the I&NS) ICE detain the alien in custody until the time that the alien's country would issue those travel documents. The logic was that the alien is illegally in the US, he has been convicted and served time for an Aggravated Felony, and he should not be freely walking the streets of the US to commit new crimes. Unfortunately, the Supreme Court case of Zadvydas v. Davis ruled that the mandatory detention law was unconstitutional and (then I&NS) ICE could not keep aggravated felon criminal aliens who had been ordered deported, detained. We can thank Sandra Day-O'Connor for the vote that supplied the tie breaker. We have tens of thousands of convicted Aggravated Felon aliens freely walking around in our country because their countries refuse to issue them travel documents. To date the Secretary of State has refused to do anything about this injustice. Hopefully, this is something the Trump administration can remedy.

Sounds like time to give those boys a brief jump training and do a fly-over of their home country with them.  Their ticket only gets them half-way across though ;D

Why train them?

They can either use a static line, or just push them out the door and let them figure it out on the way down.

Looks like president Trump is fast becoming the greatest president in my lifetime. A president that is finally going to exert pressure on these countries to start accepting the return of their criminal aliens. ;D

And it is about time. It was disgusting how President Obama treated them.

It wasn't just president Obama. It was all of the presidents for as far back as we have had criminal aliens that have been ordered deported. Even under the Reagan administration our government wouldn't step up and do anything about it. The problem was/is the career liberals that infest the State Dept. at the highest levels. I'm hoping that President Trump is made aware of the problem that we have with the State Dept. and he directs Tillerson (if he is confirmed) to root them out and remove them. The State Dept. has an exchange program that is set up to attract foreign nationals to bring them into the US (purported purpose is for cultural exchange and expose aliens to American culture and Americans to alien cultures) and allow them to work (temporarily) or just to reside with a US sponsor for a temporary time period. We had an agent that contacted a State Dept. official at DC in this program for information about an alien that was admitted under this program and who "left" the sponsor, overstayed, and disappeared into the US somewhere. The agent was disgusted by the way the State Dept. official extolled the fact that they bring in tens of thousands of exchange visitors and all of it is paid for by the taxpayer. And they did not seem very concerned that a lot of their alien's just disappear, in violation of their status.

Why bother with parachutes? They get expensive. Just kick their asses out the door.
