Any recommendations on 8 round mags for a Rock Island? Standard factory or premiums like Wilson?
I always had great satisfaction with Wilson or Shooting Star mags. However, I discovered the Tripp mags about 8 or 10 years ago and those are now my go to mags for top performance. ;)
Ordered 2 Tripps, not impressed by the factory 1.

When you compare the factory to the Tripps, you're gonna think even less of the factory mag. But fair warning ... the Tripps will slice your thumb open for sport if you aren't careful around the feed lips.
Anybody try any Check Mate mags in their 1911's?
I have 2 that I use in my SR1911 and they work fine, Never had a problem. S/S w/o pad that I paid about $18 a peace w/o shipping

I have 6 which landed with Dan Wesson 45 ACPs - only 2 required "adjustment" to feed a vbob reliably.
I have purchased a number of SS MecGar mags that work perfectly in my RIA.

Pretty sure they make the factory mags for the Kimber 10s(Newer ones) and the Ruger 1911s. I've had no issues with either ones, same with the Trip 10rder and the SS Metalforms(had issues with factory RIA metalform)
Just received my Tripp mags. I hope they work as good as they look. Feed lips don't seem that sharp but time will tell i guess.
Wow,what a difference good mags make! Just put about 50 rds through the Rock and was 100%! No failures of any kind. Stock mag goes back in the box. Now if I can just get the brass to stop going into orbit. One thing at a time I guess.
