Title: Greetings! New member here from behind enemy lines
Post by: chschs on November 18 2016 06:22:23 PM MST
Hey everyone. Just wanted to introduce myself as I'm new to the forums (but not new to 10mm!!)

I'm here in sunny beautiful Southern California behind enemy lines, but that should change in the next year or so (have my eyes on Texas).

As far as 10mm goes, I reload and love to shoot the real hot stuff. I've got so far:

I've got my eyes on a Sig P220 sometime next year and I just started the paperwork on a QC10 large-frame glock lower to build a DI 10mm AR on top of. I've been talking to Ron Williams (RMW Extreme) about getting an upper built for me.

My favorite 10mm powder is Longshot and I love Starline brass.

REALLY excited to get that AR-10mm built.

I prefer the term "way of life"

I don't have pictures of all the guns, but here's a few:

Ruger Blackhawk. After scouring gunbroker and other sites, I would find these every once in a while and pretty much every time the seller would refuse to ship to CA for no real reason :(. This gun is perfectly legal in CA, and it's perfectly legal to ship one to CA, but some people think they're doing us pro-gunners a favor by restricting our access to legal firearms JUST like the politicians. Anyways, I finally found a guy who WAS in CA and had no problem taking my money and shipping this gun to my transfer dealer here in Orange County. I LOVE shooting this gun. It really tames the 10mm too. You wouldn't know you're shooting a magnum!

TC Encore. The loose barrel to the right is my 10mm barrel. The installed barrel is .45acp/.45super. Bought the barrel custom from Match Grade Machine and I'm very pleased with it. I would absolutely buy another barrel from them in the future, and in fact I'm thinking of getting a 10-12" .300BLK barrel from them! Threaded, of course, for my eventual move out of CA ;)

Glock 21 converted. I like to call it a "G20L", and I really should get better pictures of it since I installed a nice pyramid trigger. It looks funny, but shoots great:

STI Nitro 10. Single stack 5" bull-barrel 1911:

STI Heavy 10. Single stack full-length dustcover 5" 1911. This was a special run that STI did of less than 30 pistols overall. They announced it on facebook and I grabbed one immediately. It's probably my favorite 1911:

And just a little cherry on top. It's not 10mm, but I figure 10mm fans would probably like it anyways. This is my "thumper" 458 SOCOM AR15. I LOVE shooting this gun and I'm just a sucker for big fat stupid cartridges like the 458 SOCOM. One of my plans for the next year is to build a 375 SOCOM upper that I can swap out on this guy.

Welcome aboard chschs.  :)

Tell me about the 38-40. That's pretty hot cartridge isn't it?

Does Lone Wolf sell a 7" barrel?

I can only find the 6" barrel.

Sorry about that!  I was suppose to put chschs name in the post.  I was teasing him about the Addiction and prefered to call it a "Way of Life".

But while I'm here I'll say the old original 38-40 wasn't what it is today!  Some guys have pushed the limits of this cartridge in the newer firearms like the Ruger...

There's a guy on the Firing Line forum who's trying to create a cartridge and call it 357 Ring Of Fire. He didn't say what cartridge he's using but I thought 38-40.
