Title: C.O.P. Ammo
Post by: demscray on November 13 2016 08:29:11 PM MST
Anybody have any experience with Copper Only Projectile (C.O.P.) ammo?  I bought some for my hunting sidearm to comply with CA's lead ban in buzzard - oops, I mean condor- country.  I would load some Barnes XTP, but I can't find any data.

The COP bullet is similar to Barnes, however it might not expand quite as reliably.

Here is what was found loaded in some COP 155's which were only 1100 fps http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo-pull-downs/copper-only-projectile-155gr-cop-schp-pull-down/msg19796/#msg19796 (http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo-pull-downs/copper-only-projectile-155gr-cop-schp-pull-down/msg19796/#msg19796)

I have done pull-downs on the Barnes 155 grain as loaded by Buffalo Bore and actually matched that load with the COP projectiles.
These actually were scary but this is what was found. http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo-pull-downs/buffalo-bore-barnes-155gr-tac-xp-pull-down/msg20358/#msg20358 (http://10mm-firearms.com/factory-10mm-ammo-pull-downs/buffalo-bore-barnes-155gr-tac-xp-pull-down/msg20358/#msg20358)
