Title: 10 mm S&W bbl.
Post by: Chubbo on August 11 2016 02:38:12 PM MDT
I'd like to get you folks' opinion of the best for the buck, 40 cal. barrel to fit to a 1992 Delta Elite. In getting old i'v lost most of my gunsmithing skills, and would like it to be a drop in grade. It would not need to be target grade ether. I would just like to be able  to use some of the old .40 cal. ammo. that i still have around the house, from a long gone pistol. Suggestions anyone? Thanks.

I guess I beat around the bush too much, and had the cal. wrong for the bbl. that I want.  Yes, I just want a 40 cal. drop in bbl. to fire 40 cal. in my 10mm. Delta Elite pistol

You're looking for a 10mm barrel  thru which you'll shoot 40S&W ammo?

Chubbo, would you mind clarifying your post?

A Delta has a 10mm barrel.  Your post title is 10mm S&W barrel.  You talk about swapping in a 10mm barrel, then say you want to use .40 cal ammo.

I think you are trying to ask about a good, drop in barrel for the Delta Elite in 40 S&W.

If that is the case my google foo says either Bar-sto ($225 semi-fit) or Swenson ($62.95 semi-drop in).  The Bar-sto barrel is a known qty and carries a pretty stout price tag.  At that price I would seriously consider just buying a Glock 22 police trade in (http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/168153/22gen2f/glock-22-gen2-40sw-police-trades-(fair)?)

The Swenson is new to me.  Decent reviews on MidwayUSA's site.  I would take the gamble if it were me.

Sorry Folks,
I made a bo bo. said the reverse of what I wanted to say. I want to find a .40 cal. bbl to shoot .40 cal ammo in a 11mm. Delta Elite pistol. thankfully some of you read around the bo bo, and saw what I wanted to say. The old true saying goes, "You have to take a Dutchman at what he means, not what he says". Sorry.
