Nice review. Thanks for posting.
Dang it.
This is on the heals of me feeling "vanilla" about my EDC Glock 20. So now here I am on Gunbroker thinking of pulling the $450 trigger on a Witness P.
I'm curious. Who carries in Condition One and anyone carry in Condition Two?

I always carry condition 2 with a Witness. Probably due to my military training. It was required to carry our M9 with a round in the chamber and the safety on. It's very safe. And I've practiced a million times drawing and flipping the safety that its natural now. I sometimes use my thumb to find my safety when I'm shooting my Glock. Old habits.
I carry condition 1 when I carry a 1911. That was every day up to about a year ago when I bought my G20.
I carried my Witness in condition 1.5...that is to say, safety on, hammer at half cock. When carrying full condition 1 I like the extra benefit of a grip safety.
If I were to return to Witness as an EDC it would likely now be in condition 1 all the time.
...and tell me again...what's cond. 1 and cond. 2? (I really don't want to watch the video again.)
In either event, I carry my Witness PFS with one in the chamber (and 13 in the mag), cocked, and safed.
And is it pronounced 'Tanfolio' or Tanfoglio'?
condition 1: round chambered, hammer cocked, safety on
condition 2: round chambered, hammer down (position of the safety is not relevant to condition 2 classification)
Condition 3: Magazine loaded, chamber empty. The slide will have to be racked before the gun is ready to fire.
I carried my Colt Mustang in Condition 2 for years but recently switched to 1 as I have RA and my right hand is most affected. I also changed from 1 to 2 for my full size pistols when I carry one, usually a Sig P220 10mm. Both worked equally well as I've never had to even consider drawing.
I carry Condition One with 1911s', but the thumb safety is so mussy on my Tanfoglio plus it lacks a grip safety I carry the Tanfoglios in Condition Two, but only when I can lower the hammer in a direction where I wouldn't care if it slipped and a round went off.
You recommend a 20# recoil spring in the video. I'd like to know which one works. Brownells shows none for EAA or Tanfoglio. Thanks in advance. Sneed

I use 22lb. springs in my 4.75" pistols for everything. Never a single problem and they all look like new. You can use a 20lb. just as well probably unless shooting only hot stuff.
