So a while back I ordered some pulled federal bullets. A 1000 to be exact. Mostly 124gr HST, however they were mixed. Got a lot of Hydra-shoks in the bunch. 124's, 135's and 147's. Looking to load up the 124's Hydra-shoks to play with. Utilizing quickload with alliant herco profile (tracks about 99% to autocomp). So far I've loaded 5 to test. New Star line brass, 5.8gr autocomp, federal small pistol primers, and 1.103" overall length.
I am also thinking of testing 6.0gr be-86, same components.
I see federal has an offering of the Hydra-shoks in 124+p+ advertised velocity of 1170fps 4" barrel.
Looking at quickload, I should achieve 1200fps + from a 4" barrel while staying well within +p territory.
But anyone have any ideas? Looking forward to seeing what I can make of these.

While working with the 9mm remember case capacity vs bullet lengths can vary. HST's are usually a longer bullet by weight and their seating depth is critical to maintain proper pressures without exceeding the limitations of the brass in some firearms.
I used Herco in the 9mm for a while but switched to Power Pistol for better performance.
Bullet-Remington 124 grain Jacketed Hollow Point 0.355"Dia. (some 9mm can vary 0.354" - 0.356")
Power Pistol 6.6grs
Velocity - 1235 fps - PSI 34,000
COAL 1.1250"
Since BE-86 came out I have liked it as well, it seems Sig Sauer was using it in their various loadings under the V Crown bullets...
Yes, I have seen what the HST's can do, so having all these Hydra-shoks laying around, I figured it would be fun to see how fast I can push them.
The 124gr Hydra-shoks were .568" long, and I settled on the overall length because of the pull marks. I figured if I get a good load, I may use it in my carbine for dispatching varmints at closer ranges. Since I can reload these easier than I can a 22 why not?
Looking through the data, I pulled up the 124gr V-CROWN pull down on the forum, and loaded up the 6gr be-86 124gr Hydra-shoks, New Star line brass, that has tested close to 14gr h20 capacity. Out of 5 samples so far I've had 3 at 14gr, and 2 at 14.1gr h20 capacity? Which is quite more than the 13.3 saami spec.
