Title: Advice on loads
Post by: Arizonaman on July 23 2016 07:51:34 PM MDT
Hi, I have been reloading for the 10mm for a couple of years. I am going to go to 165 grn. Hollow point. I would like to get some velocity behind it but not nuclear either. The powders that I have on hand are accurate #7 and longshot. Can you point me in the right direction of upper velocities?  I usually load 180 grn.  hst or Speer tmj at around 9.4 grn's of longshot. The platform is a standard glock 20 with lone wolf barrel. Thanks

These were found in our pull-down section and my be of some help...
Double Tap was doing the 165 Gold Dot with 9.6 LongShot @ 1350 fps
Underwood was doing the 165 Speer FMJ with 10.2 LongShot @ 1400 fps

Thanks, I was looking through those and must of missed it. I just picked up 7 lbs of #7 and kinda regret it. Should have stuck with longshot. I see the pressure is higher with #7. From my friends chrono with 180 grn hst is 1266 with a standard deviation of 11.80 with 9.4 grains nice load.

I hope I don't read like a hardass, but don't you have a reloading manual...or three or five?  And both Accurate and Hodgdon publish those data free.

Yes I do, but from what I have been reading on the 10mm they are on the conservative side a bit. Also I really don't have any data with the 165 grn hollow point with the mentioned powders.
