There are plenty tensions surrounding these conventions that are about to take place and harsh threats from the Black Panther Terrorist and Black Lives Matter Terrorist!  The possibility of bloodshed is ultimately probable during the unfolding events!  Both of these groups were carrying guns openly during their recent protesting.

Open carry being suspended my lessen the call volume...but things will a mess either way!

Shadow, a Constitutional right is a right and the governor said no ban.

Remember when blacks were open carrying in California in the 1960's? Reagan passed anti gun laws to stop it.

Just sayin....

Let's put it this way it is a right, but I would not be out there testing the situation given the seriousness and recent events against LEO's.  I fully understand the facts of rights vs. the suspension thereof.

I think there will be many blacks open carrying during the convention.

Lets not forget about the large groups of bikers that will be there in support of the Trumpster!  They too may also be armed one way or the other... :o

Bikers are smarter than to get mixed up in that. You might get some lower ladder bikers, but not the top tier ones. Cops will certainly be busy.

A nut with a string of firecrackers could start a massacre.

I wonder if the paid protesters will think twice before attending when their lives might be in jeopardy?

I've been trained to never sweep a barrel across anything you don't want to shoot.  How is that possible in a standing room only situation?  I'd stay home!

That would be a good question.

Can an open carry gun be safely carried by NRA standards in a place as densely populated as a protest like that?  If you sent open carry back to the car if a barrel sweeps another individual, most would be sent packing (pun intended).  That is one way to handle a the situation.

I'm for the right, but I'm also for the individual being liable for his/her actions.

Total ban , No

But just like certain restricted zones where guns aren't allowed ( football games, courts, etc ) they could put a temp no zone around the area of convention

Guys;

I am 64, lived in Columbus my whole life. And I have NEVER, EVER seen anyone open-carry here.

I think this is pretty stupid. Noone is going to try shooting up police with a pistol and someone who is planning on killing people isn't going to obey the rules anyway, same problem with every single piece of gun legislation. I live in dallas and I have never seen a single person open carrying, I really doubt this rule would even affect anyone know cleveland.

Notice the individual who brought this to light, a union boss. Wonder he will vote for?  :P

Of course it makes no difference.

Just like blacks who bring in drugs on their private submarines and airplanes.

That is an interesting situation. It sure gets the slick tongued, politicians that handle the truth a bit carelessly, running scared, and wanting to be protected by officials carrying those nasty old guns that the public should not be permitted to possess, doesn't it? funny how some folks deserved to be protected, and some don't. It's almost as if there were double sets of standards out there doesen't it?
