Title: Sig P220
Post by: 01deuce on July 03 2016 04:12:48 PM MDT
I was going to get the all stainless SAO mainly due to being a lefty and the location of the de-cocker on the da/sa.  Then my dealer kept telling me to check out the legion ( bought a P226 .357 Sig) and I realized it is easier for me to de-cock left handed vs right. I also preferred the fixed sight vs the adjustable on the SAO guns.

Very nice shooting gun !

I have one also, very nice gun and a great shooter. I'm going to be playing with some 200 G bullets, hp and coated lead and will likely push them with either PP or BE-86. I'm looking forward to it, should be fun!

I have a black one with adjustable sights. It is also a track driver. Can't wait to try it on deer. These are one fine guns, and I am a 1911 man, almost. I said almost, because I like those glocks to!

Good for you. Mine has fixed sights as almost all do. I'd buy another with adjustable sights though so I'm hoping Sig does another production run. Does anyone know if Sig is selling replacement recoil springs for this model yet?

Awesome pistol
Only the camo version is current.
For some reason sig has bought the lie that 10mm is only for hunting

That appears to be the last to sell from the last batch. The DA/SA were gone first, followed by the all stainless SAO and next the all black Sao. I'm sure there are a few examples of all configurations for sale out there somewhere. The camo model just doesn't seem as popular as the rest.
Sig told me next year there should be a 4.25" model  and a All stainless with fixed sights. I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice if they do.

Here it is with the Garrett fusion IWB holster.

If sig is to be believed, and we all know what they tell us needs to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt  :P, the next batch of 10mm's is supposed to be the Emperor scorpion DA/SA, and then the real hunt ready with the red dot. Though given the massive failure rate with the Romeo Red dots on the MK25 and the P320 RX that have shipped thus far, I am sure they have seriously delayed it for the 10mm.

Im stowing cash for that emperor scorpion now that I know the Romeo 1 has massive problems.

I just purchased a Burris Fastfire 3 for my ruger 44mag. If it holds up to that with Buffalo Bore ammo, I'll be very inclined to put one on that scorpion once I finally have it in hand.

I'm going to be picking up a SSE in all stainless SAO. I understand that with the Sig chambers you can shoot the Underwood ammo and some hot hand loads? I'm very much a hog exterminator with my Glock 20 Gen SF and KKM barrel.

I have the SAO stainless version and the sights are definitely inferior, at least for my eyes. I took it and my Witness Full Size P to the range a few weeks ago and shooting as fast as I could get the sights on target fired about a six inch pattern with the Sig and about a two inch group with the Witness. The Witness sights are pretty standard with a square notch and post and the gun itself is less comfortable to shoot but those were the results.

I've since sent the Sig to Amerigun to fabricate a mount for a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro and should have it back in the next week. Then I'll see. The results of shooting the Sig were just unacceptable so hopefully this will rectify that problem. I've also adapted a messenger bag with internal leather partitions to hold the pistol upright next to an extra magazine and hope this will become my main carry gun.
