Title: Improved my G29.4
Post by: Olgo on June 03 2016 08:07:14 PM MDT
Before I got the new rear sight I was shooting high at 10 yards. I'm talking at least 4" high. When I took measurements I found that either my front sight is too short or my rear sight is too tall. I was able to find a rear sight that is 6.1 mm and that evened up with the front sight. The old one is 6.9 mm and you can see how a big a difference that is.

I shot ten Sig Elite 10mm 180 FMJ, rated at 1250 fps from I think 5" barrel. The first few was on a bench rest to sight in the new sight and found I have it on the money. I have a bad shoulder where I get a twitch sometimes and get a flyer or two. The very first shot nicked the X in the bulls eye, nearly perfect.  :D

With the new sight I got a Lone Wolf 40sw barrel and I took 20 Hornady 40sw 165 FTX to try it out. The right target with the green markers is the first ten shots and the left with ten more. Fatigue was setting in before I started the second one so I was going off the mark.

And those Hornady (1175 fps) kicked like a mule almost as bad as the Sigs. Good lord!
