Title: thinking of getting rid of my 2 1006's, and going EAA Stock 3; wil I regret it?
Post by: scubadds on May 23 2016 08:00:08 AM MDT
So,
Don't Laugh here...I had a Stock 3 and conversion .40 barrel briefly

I go into competing and wanted a 9mm, so I sold the EAA to a buddy for what I had in it....
Thinking I could get a 9mm Tanfoglio and convert to 10mm or .40; but the 9mm conversion slides are not easy to get thru EAA.
I got back into 10mm and found a local 1006, then bought another off GB; loaded up on 20 or mags

I now am getting a 9mm EAA (stock 2 or limited pro or maybe a Stock 3) and I can easily get a 10mm conversion slide (at cost)

I figure if I sell 2 1006's and all the mags; I can fund a dialed in 10mm stock 3 (I do like having a light rail)

My question: do you guys and gals think I will look back and regret selling the 1006's?  I guess I could sell one, not both.
I have 2 boys, so I tend to get things in pairs just in case....
I don't "collect" as much as buy and use what I like at the time; I don't intend to have a large collection of guns; just  a very thought out set of guns to enjoy.

Well first off you should sell me 2 magazines at a reasonable price. After that I would say sell 1 1006 with 2 magazines and about 7 or so separate and buy the stock III.(with money leftover) I have a 1066 and a stock III and although I like the 1066. I love the stock III.

I don't own a 1006 or 1911 now. I have a few Tanfoglios though!

I had a 1006 and a 1076 as I recall and I sold them both about 2 years ago. I don't regret it at all, If / When they broke there is a good chance that I would have been SOL if parts were needed, and I didn't want to just put them in the safe to look at. I purchased a RI 1911 10MM and later on a SIG DA/SA 10MM and I'm happy. They keep the Colt DE, the Glock 20 and Glock 29 company.

Yes you will regret it. Better just to start saving money if you want to get into 9MMs'.

Sell one and lots of the mags. Should give you a healthy level of funding.

Unless you are in a hurry, just save up the money and get your new addition. It does not cost you anything to let it sit in your safe.
