Title: It's been a while
Post by: Deadguy on April 01 2016 02:46:40 AM MDT
3 years, maybe?  No, I don't have another 10, but I still have scars from shooting the Swamp Fox ammo.

Three years, 9 days.

Good to hear from you.

If you haven't been shooting 10's, what have you been shooting?

Mainly 45s (all 1911s).  I also purchased a 9mm 1911 and got into the AR game.

I have been playing with AR's as well.  You should check out my thread in the rifles section on my AR-10 in 358 Winchester.  I hope to finish it up tomorrow afternoon when I get back home from Europe, and maybe get out shooting on Sunday.

Yea. Was this a .40 that was overcharged? Glock?

Ok DeadGuy, I managed to rummage through the threads and NickE10mm did the pull-down, here is Nick's findings over at GT;  It is a great thread and many of us discussed it at length.
http://www.glocktalk.com/threads/swampfox-200gr-xtp-1325fps-load-dissection-w-pics.1404729/ (http://www.glocktalk.com/threads/swampfox-200gr-xtp-1325fps-load-dissection-w-pics.1404729/)

Nick found 10mm Starline Brass 9.9 grains of LS and 9.4 grains under the 200 gr XTP COAL 1.2500" 1.2510"  The 10.0 grain loads were listed at 1325 fps

Still looking to find if you posted any gun info or damage pictures.

Oh there was no damage.  I was joking about the "scars". :)

Only ruptured 10mm case I ever had was a PPU round that was double charged.

There was a thread on GT a while ago where Swampfox ammo KB'd a Glock 29.

The late Mike Willard blamed the KB on the "SF" model Glock. I don't know about that, but he did develop a "Glock 29 specific load" after this, which I believe was a 200 grain bullet at 1190 fps.

The thread is gone unfortunately. Eric purged or archived a lot of good information a few years ago over at GT.

I shot the 10.0 load. What's wrong with it?

Intercooler, the SwampFox 200gr XTP 10.0 grains of LS, while it worked in some guns that had excellent case support (like you EAA) and others that were setup to handle the higher impulse ammo, it did yield undesirable results in some firearms Heavy "SMILES" and expanded primer pockets...yes it achieved it's advertised claim of 1325 fps.
