I have just made a suggestion to Justin at Underwood ammunition:
I recommended that they load a 175-grain Winchester-Western Silvertip hollow point ahead of 12.3 grains of AA#7 (or a similar propellant at similar pressure levels). We all know how effective both the bullet, and the speed it produces is quite effective and efficient.
I hope that they listen. Cross your fingers.
Can you get quantities of ST's now? Anthony at PBR might have a bigger ear for it.
I don't know if they are available in quantity, but if Underwood is interested, we may be in luck. A nice, spicy 10mm that may be a bit more powerful than the stock W-W STHP would be welcome for both hunting an antipersonnel use. Quantity form either Underwood or PBR would be a welcome addition to the market.
The Silvertips haven't been around in bulk in quite some time, but they are still being made for the Winchester ammo line ups. But heck who's to say what will show up one day!
At one time Kevin from Underwood said that he would fill a custom order of SilverTips for me. I would have to send him the bullets.
That seems like an easier sell. I personally would rather see someone load up Golden Sabers.
Golden Sabers are nice. But are better at around 1200 or less. Core jacket separation. However, a good up close defense round.
All of the Golden Sabers in Raggedyman's testing did really well. It was kind of shocking actually!
