Title: It's Here!
Post by: MikeS. on February 01 2016 04:42:57 PM MST
Clement's built me a GP-100 in 10mm. It took  eight months to get it but I think it was worth the wait.  It started life as a Ruger GP – 100 6-inch.  Here are the requisite pictures.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to shoot it some this week.

Conversion, trigger job and barrel slab siding all total was just shy of $1,100. Revolver not included.

The ability to shoot extremely hot 10mm rounds in a revolver: Priceless.

The first 12 shots out of my GP-100 10mm from about 15 yards. Center panel near the bottom.

This thread makes me wonder why Ruger or Smith & Wesson hasn't jumped on the 10 mm revolver thing. I would like to have one of these for $800 or maybe $1000. The $1600 plus sorry I'll pass.

I really enjoyed the original post however. Not having any issue with this story at all.

They did, I have a 6.5" barreled Model 610 with an unfluted cylinder. They dropped the Model 610 from the line twice and haven't brought it back.

Don't ask me, I don't know why.

No ROI on them.

What I don't get is why they don't make them a custom shot offering.

It's an auto cartridge is the main reason.

This is huge.  Add to it that IF you are going with the revolver platform, the 41 Magnum does everything 10mm does, plus a ton more.

And S&W only makes the 41 Mag available as one model in their 'Classics' line. As you probably know the Classics line up changes from year to year.

I'd think lack of sales ended the 610 but maybe today there 'might' be enough interest to add it to the Classics series for a year? They may still see it as a 'niche' revolver and feel the need to keep production in the more profitable M&P series and smaller concealed carry type revolvers.

To the OP, sorry for the thread drift. Very nicely done firearm you have....you should be very proud to own it.
