I have heard that the red dot (Romeo) is not ready yet. If I order a Hunt Ready P220 10 will it come machined for the Romeo?

The current "hunt ready" (read kryptec camo) with standard target sights does not come cut for the romeo.
I have been asking sig for updates on both the romeo p220 and the 4.4" 10mm quite a bit since shot show started. Each time they avoid answering pretty carefully. Im guessing based off the fact they aren't showing the 4.4 and the last thing heard was it was still in engineering (3 months ago) that it's either canceled or they are having reliability issues. That the romeo isn't being talked about on the 10mm platform tells me it's having issues holding up to 10mm forces.
I have money for both sitting back just waiting for them to release. Its sitting there just earning interest.
Thanks for the info. I have one on order but did not want it unless it was machined for a red dot. I wonder if other red dots could be adapted to the slide?

You could certainly have the slide on any of the currently available models machined to use almost any red dot you choose. I have been thinking about having my stainless sao machines and putting one of the vortex venom ones on it.
What did you guys think of your vortex venoms? Ideally I want to get a trijicon rmr but I can't afford that. I'm considering the mid priced red dots like the venom, the Romeo 1 and Burris ff3. Just want to make sure its a solid optic. I had a cmore sts back in 2010 and it was a total pos. Wouldn't hold an exact zero. Didn't feel anything like using a red dot on say an ar. Would love to hear what you guys think.
Somewhere on the sig forum I read that is sauer had said the Romeo was a no go on the 10mm.
I will dig around and see if I can find the post.

I posted that on this forum here

I have been bugging them bi monthly on the real hunt ready. The last time I talked to them was when the mk25rx released. As I said in the other forum, they stated the 10mm is too much for the romeo in its current form. While they said the might keep working on it, it sure sounded like they are seriously considering scrapping the romeo for 10mm.
I have the venom, I have the 10mm, its just getting the local machine shop to find the time to get the slide cut. They keep taking big orders on custom parts from up and coming ar-15 builders around here so my side work is coming second. The moment I have a range report you can bet Ill be posting on here though.
I asked sig about the emperor scorpion that there was some chatter about a few months ago and got an unexpected surprise.
"At this time the next P220 will be 45acp Legion. The Hunter RX (With ROMEO1 optic) in 10mm is the next slated to ship. Both models are planned for 2016."
Seems they got the romeo where they feel comfortable releasing it on top of a 10mm...good news.
I was told by my LGS that Sig rep says no 220 legion this year. Too much demand for existing 226 and 229 model. Well beyond their expectations and as such no mfg. capacity for new models at this time.
