Title: Best 10mm for a lefty?
Post by: Tiger9297 on January 05 2016 09:06:56 PM MST
Hello all. New to the forum. Been around guns all my life, but never owned a semi-auto revolver. I hear all of the horror stories about the recoil of a 10mm, but I've been hunting w/ a .44 Mag for 20 years, so that part doesn't really bother me. The 10mm just seems like it will do anything from CCW, to home defense, to an occasional hunting trip. It's a caliber that I really think I'd like. My issue is being left handed. I know my best hope is an "ambidextrous" gun (right handed w a few left handed buttons/levers), but I can live with that. I just don't want to have to do everything right handed. What is the best ambi 10mm out there that could be CCW? Thanks in advance for the help.

My wife is lefty and is served by a ambi thumb safety in a Witness.  Same would hold for 1911.  Best be adept at manipulating the mag release with the finger though.

Glock Gen 4 offers a reversible mag release and would probably be the best bet.

I'm a southpaw and love my Rock 10mm.

I'm a 'southpaw' and the Kimber Target II in 10mm is a good choice right out of the box.  Already comes with the ambi-safety.
