Title: Cor-Bon 150gr JHP
Post by: Intercooler on December 26 2015 07:02:40 PM MST
Found these at the Gun Shop today and snatched them up. I didn't get to complete the data with the few I got in an exchange last time. Now we have enough to even do the pull-down.

Looks like an old box.

If you read Stopping Power by Evan Marshal, this round exhibited a miserable failure to stop in one of the shootings described there. Had it been loaded to 1450 or 1500 one wonders if the outcome may have been different.

Certainly not a "hot" load but will be curious to see the powder used and actual tested velocity from that lot.  It would be cool to know the actual age of the ammo too.

It does make me wonder.

One thing though, it is hard to make judgement on a single incident.

Pretty decent and might be older stuff.

EAA Limited Pro 4.75" 1375, 1350, 1344. Average = 1356.33 FPS/ 613 LBS
EAA Super Match 6" 1417, 1402, 1415. Average = 1411.33 FPS/ 664 LBS

It's about 200fps over the best factory 40S&W loads and about 150fps short of the top 10mm Auto loads.  Not weak and not being pushed to the limit.
