From now until the June 21st - 22nd the daylight hours will slowly (but surely) will increase in length.
Bear in mind that "Groundhog Day" (February 2nd) marks the middle of the Winter season and whether or not the weather will be fair (or foul) is entirely up to the Almighty himself.
Enjoy!
The real reason for the season. :P
Yep! Dec 21 the shortest day of the year...however down here is unseasonably warm! yesterday almost 4" and most of the rest of this week will be raining...Liquid snow I suppose! Or Global Warming! ::)
Anyway it's tough to get in the proper mood, hopefully better weather and sunshine may help out soon. ;)
Yesterday we had a power failure from 1:00 pm until 11:00 pm.. It has rained every day since my birthday (December 1st) and the winds reached 50 miles per hour when the power went down! We've had three times more rain (in Oregon) that we normally have during the entire month of December since the 1970's!
I just read an expose' of the "man-made Global Warming" malarkey stating that the global temperatures (in Antarctica, no less) havent changed in more than 35 years.
The weather goes in cycles, and I doubt that there's anything we can do about it!
Captain, O
Last year the snow is WA Cascades was really light. In two days we have more snow than all last year! The weather report said "Snowing hard". Almost seemed funny to see those two words together. We had our monthly mean water by the 8th and now are well into record territory. My commute bridge closed three time BEFORE winter started. That's never happened!
But yes, here's to longer daylight and a Merry Christmas!
Power failure two nights ago, and again this morning. Had about 2' of snow in the last 10 days + rain that melted the snow back down.
