The purpose of this sheet is to document relevant but often not published data about handguns for our favorite rounds. In particular, actual weight of the entire gun with an empty factory mag, weight of the slide assembly (anything that moves with the slide), barrel, slide, and the slugged bore diameter.
I am publishing this in a table in this post. If you have a firearm to add, please take as many of the measurements as you can and then post them. I will vet and add them to the table along with the submitter.
Clarification: All values are weights except the slug diameter. The goal of this table is not to regurgitate values commonly found on mfg websites, but to document values we care about with high impulse guns that are NOT commonly found. Specifically, the weight of the reciprocating mass.

Complete weight of pistol and empty factory magazine - 2 lbs and 12.25 oz
Slide with barrel and spring - 1 lb and 4.70 oz
Barrel only - 4.30 oz
Under zoom which i did for the pictures, there is a very thin portion of the cartridge that is unsupported by the feed ramp. Still looks too small to be an issue with case bulges, smileys or blow outs.

In your spec for the 220 10mm you list the barrel length at 4.3 inches.
Spec for the 220R shows as 5.03 inches....
Just wondering....and slide weight ?
thanks
Both the numbers are weights of those individual pieces, not lengths.
ppro, you weren't the first to be confused. I have edited the original post for clarification. The goal here is to document specs that the makers don't usually publish, but that we care about as enthusiasts.
Thanks for the edit.
I didn't know if there was a model I wasn't aware of, or if the specs were different.
Since it is the 5" your talking about, the the slide weight etc wouldn't change which was all I was wondering.
That is interesting information. Manufacturers spec sheets usually give you a "high level" view.
The sig P220 reminds me of a cross between the S&W Model 1006 and the Bren Ten full-sized model. I think this pistol, or the Glock 20 would be the best pistol for the US Marines to carry into combat. Thread the barrel for a suppressor and you'd be "good to go".

My Witness Compact Barrel is 3.682" and weighs 3.15 oz
The (old style) Slide is 6.42" and weighs 11.20 oz

The whole Upper weighs 18.45 oz
My Delta Gold Cup
Barrel is 4.905" at 4.05 oz
Slide with fully adjustable Meprolight Sights is 7.45" at 13.25 oz
The full Upper with Hart's Recoil Reducing, Full Length Guide Rod is 19.95 oz

Thanks! Table updated.
I can give you the weights for the Limited and Hunter. I'm guessing you aren't inputting lengths?
please do.
I am not putting in lengths. Generally they are already well documented by the makers. Weight, specifically of the reciprocating parts, is either inaccurate or more often, not available. And since it is the single largest indicator of how well a 10mm handgun will handle the heavy loads, it is really valuable to us.
I don't have anything to weigh the entire setup.
Here is what I got though:
EAA Elite Limited 4.75"
Slide- 12.83 oz
Barrel- 4.76 oz
EAA Hunter 6"
Slide- 14.70 oz
Barrel- 4.74 oz
Thanks IC. Table updated.
Picked up an 11lb digital to finish up the data set and... senior moment... forgot my Limited Pro too :) Getting old :)
Limited
Slide assembly- 19.1 oz
Total- 46.1 oz
Hunter
Slide assembly- 22.0 oz
Total- 48.0 oz
Limited Pro
Slide- 13.64 oz
Barrel- 3.91 oz
Slide assembly- 18.9 oz
Total- 42.7 oz
For the Match is that the new style with rail? I'm wondering if that should be noted?
It is not. I will amend the post.
RIA Tact II FS
Total (w/o Mag) 40.3
Total (w/ Mag) 43
Slide asm 21.2

Bare slide 13.3
I'd like to see loaded weight with one common bullet weight, (say 180 grain) and magazine capacity listed

I weighed my RIA Tact II FS with 9 rounds (8+1) at 48 oz.
9x Armscor 180 gr
EAA Witness Elite with rail and ambi safety, 14 +1 capacity, 180 grain 10MM FMJ loads. Using a USPS mechanical scale I get 56 ounces
@sqlbullet - What is the 'SC' designation behind the RIA entry?
RIA Tactical II FS SC
Standard Capacity. The wide body guns would be HC.

D'oh! Right you are...
STI Perfect 10

Slide assembly 25.0
Barrel 6.5
Bare slide 15.7
Here are the Bren Ten Specs...
Bren Ten Standard Model Weight empty 38-39 oz with magazine (38 oz Wooden Grips) - 34 oz without magazine
Barrel weight / Slide / Recoil 17 oz
Frame weight 17 oz
Slide weight 12 oz
Barrel weight 3 oz
Bore 0.3990" (as best I can measure)
Bren Ten Military & Police Weight empty 38 oz
Bren Ten Special Forces Weight empty 33 oz
Bren Ten Dual Master Weight empty 33 oz
The Bren Ten Standard model aligns VERY closely with an EAA Witness full size steel.
Interesting! I didn't know they made four models.

Hell Yes! A sub-gun in 10mm would be breath taking. Even with 180 grain FMJ, we are talking well over 700 ft/lbs of 10mm.
OK, got a new Witness Hunter coming, looking for info on this one such as compatibility with full power 10mm (I have a LOT of Underwood!) Also looking for grips, and a threaded barrel, ~6.6" or so total length.
I take it that the 4.7 under Barrel for the 6" W.H. is barrel weight in ounces? I like a 3# handgun, especially for the hotter loads ;D
I can't find no 10mm Witness's locally to see if a double stack would even fit in my small short fingered hand.
I am sticking to single stacks till I can feel one. But I do have a 6 inch one.
The dimensions should give you a good feel. I think if you don't mind the feel of a 1911, the Witness will be just so much better.
Yes, well my 1911's are single stack. The reason I never got an LAR Grizzly, or a Coonan .357, or a Desert Eagle is my hand will not fit around huge grips. I am uncomfortable with Glock double stacks, are EAA Witness's any better?
Very much so!
Well dang it, there is not one gun store here I know of that stocks them!

Which I just got in an even up gun trade for a pistol I did NOT care for! And I likes it!

HK made the MP5/10 and I think the FBI still uses them. Just think about a 30 round mag loaded with Underwood's 200gr XTP'S
Bore diameter on the Sig P220 is .399 measured with a ball micrometer. Also the barrel length you have listed is 4.3", should be 5.0"
i have a 1006 S&W 10 mm and i notice the swelling of the cases at the bottom what must i do? new barrels are hard to find

Hello and welcome to the forum Quisno! What recoil spring are you using? Factory? Extra Power? If factory it is only 18lbs at best and if it is older it is possible it is weaker.
In my 1006 I run a Wolff Gun Spring 22lbd recoil spring, it helps the dwell timing for the heavier loads holding the slide in battery slight longer. For really heavy loads I even have a 24lbs.
The heavier springs also help keep brass a little closer to your position. ::)
I carry a 1006 daily, I also use the 22 pound Wolff Spring. I mostly fire Double Tap or Underwood 135gr JHP or 155gr JHP or the solid copper HP in 125gr or 155gr. they are pretty hot rounds, high velocity. The 1006 originally came with came with a 19 Lb. Spring from the Factory 30 years ago. A First wedding Anniversary present from my wife. Quisno You can get a full tune up pak from Wolff and change all of the springs in your 1006, this way they have the necessary tension. They have them in 19, 20, 22and 24, they may have one that's less than the original. It's good to do every once in a while. You can also get new Magazine springs from them to keep you magazine working properly. I have a bunch of handguns but the 1006 is by far my favorite.
