Title: Sig and case ejection
Post by: Sean Thornton on November 16 2015 09:52:12 AM MST
I love the Sig 10mm. It has functioned flawlessly through over 500 rounds. the only downside is that the cases on ejections mares the finish on the slide.

I get that on every gun I own in 10mm.

I do also but I guess are not as noticeable on my Stainless Delta, 1006 and Kimber as well as the Glock.

The main thing is it denting the cases, that could be an issue with reloading them... :-[

What does the ejector look like? Maybe it's time to tweak on it.

Throw a little tape on that area before you shoot.

No dents in the cases. Not a real problem and it is a great 12 shooter Sig 10mm.

Yeah...I would tape it if it really bugs you.

Someone wanted a picture of the Sig as a 12 shooter.

Is that a factory Sig 10 round .45 mag? I tried one in my P220 10mm and it was one malfunction after another. Completely unreliable with anything more than 8 rounds.

It is a .45 10 round mag. I have 2 of them and both run flawlessly. I have probably fired at least 10 times each(full mag of 11 rds) without any problems. I also use the 8 rd 45 mags. In fact I have not had a single malfunction with this pistol since I have had it and over 500 rounds thru it.

Sometimes that can be very ammo dependent.  I have a gun that will eat certain bullet shapes from any magazine I have for it, but other bullet shapes it will not feed from one certain magazine.

I have the same model SIG as displayed.   I just double-checked and no marks from the ejected brass that i can see.   I typically shoot 180gr fp with 8.5 gr of PowerPistol.   Cases don't look dented either.
I have 5 of the P220 .45acp 10 round mags and they all work very well in the 10mm.

I get a few marks on my sig but it's stainless so they hard to see. Plus I usually shoot nickel cases so it's double rare. My RIA had them all over the slide after a session at the range though.

But man does that sig throw the brass when running hot loads though it. I was tossing it 4 benches away the last time I had mine out at the range. As luck would have it, I had a 5gal bucket in the truck and just placed it where most of the brass was landing. Most of it actually made it in the bucket when I did my part.   :D
