I see Gold Dot has a different round for short barrel handguns , does anyone know what powder they use for that round ?

Almost certainly something we can't buy off the shelf.

Handloader magazine has run several articles on barrel length, and all their tests end the same. Barrel length is not really a factor in which powder is going to provide the best velocity. It comes down to the ratio of volume to bore diameter. Higher volume for the same bore diameter means a slower powder will perform better.

It's not FPS that I'm thinking about , it is muzzle flash that concerns me .
