Title: 8mm vs level III AR500 armor
Post by: Raggedyman on October 08 2015 07:54:54 PM MDT
It's not rated to stop it, but can 7.92x57mm defeat an AR500Armor.com Level III plate? You've seen my earlier tests. What do you think? The ammo in question is Turkish surplus and the impact velocity was 2,888, fired from a Yugoslavian M48. Don't cheat. Make your prediction before you watch the test. This one really surprised me.

Based on my talks with an Iraq war veteran it will go through.  If it fails I have some armor piercing made by FNH in 1940 that should.

What's the grain of the round? Anyway from what i know of that caliber is that it's similar to .308 and 30-06. I think the armor should stop it.
