I'm new to this forum, and the 10mm. The main reason is the 460 Rowland, I didn't see a need for the 10mm...until now. I just picked up a G29 and love it. The 460 has a down side, the 2" compensator hanging off the barrel limits its concealability IMO. I have a G30 and a Springfield 1911 converted to 460 and both are extremely accurate and hit hard. The G29 has 90% of the ballistics and is much easier to conceal, what's not to love.
I just wanted to share my main reload for the 460 Rowland with a 230 gain bullet. I use 11 grains of Longshot (10min-12max) 11 gives the best accuracy in my guns and 1275-1300 fps is plenty of horsepower. The real secret for me was primers. The only primer to give my load ragged hole 10 yard accuracy is the Federal 150 primer, its incredible, change to a CCI or Winchester and groups open up.
That's it, I will continue to pick up 10mm knowledge from this forum, and get deeper and deeper into the 10mm family. I like it, 10mm people are hard core!
Hank.
Welcome to the forum Hank! Yes the 460 could be used without the comp, but supposedly it is hard on the slide and frame.
I will say that in these lawyered up times I carry my G-30 more because i wouldn't want to have my 10mm guns held as evidence or what have you... The 10mm does provide better ballistics in my opinion than the 45ACP does.
Thankfully I have never had to place my CCW in to play in this changing world, but I constantly am aware of my surroundings and places I travel into and from these days...
Best regards and enjoy the forum! :D
