So I picked up a Tanfoglio 10mm Stock 1 while it was available. It came housed in a very nice lockable case with one mag, although since there's a cutout in the foam for a second one, I suspect Tanfoglio shipped it with two mags but EAA removed the spare mag to sell it separately. ::)
I did receive several extra mags from Midway. I did a break-in, function test, and basic sight-in with 50-rds of CCI/Blazer 10mm 200-grainers, and another 60-rds of my standard 180gn "mid-range-ish" reloads that are doing about 1150fps. The S1 shot both loads very accurately and without any bobbles - no failures to feed, fire, or eject. Mags loaded up to 14-rds without issues. The out-of-the-box accuracy of this gun surprised me, frankly ... DA trigger pull was decent; SA pull was smooth and sweet. So that's the brief range report.

Before stepping up to full-spec 10mm loads, though, I want to get Hennings' conefit guide rod and an XP recoil spring .... ...
So for you guys who've got a Stock 1, S2, or Match 10mm, what recoil spring weight are you running? Henning's site shows 20lbs as the strongest XP Wolff spring he stocks.
Also, on the sights, the front sight on my gun measures .150 in height.
With both types of loads, it shot low at first, so I cranked the LPA rear sight up quite a bit up until POA = POI at 25ft, my normal initial zero distance. The gun then shot both loads virtually to the same POA.
While I can live with the LPA rear sight for now (it is rather low profile), I'd like to get a new front sight that measures .125-.130 in height. Then I can adjust the elevation section of the LPA sight to a lower setting so it doesn't look so much like a "wing" sticking up in the air when viewed from the side, and maybe less prone to damage if the gun's banged or dropped.
Preferably I'd like to get a tritium frt sight (with white dot outline), or at least a decent F.O. sight.
Anybody done this upgrade on the sights?

I think the Stock I is the ultimate witness for actual use as a sidearm in our society. Classic lines, masterfully executed.
It is a sweet looking piece. If my steel Wonder finish didn't pan out, plan B was to svae up for a Stock 1. I still may go for one in .38 super/9x23. The only thing I'd like better in 10mm would be a SAR K-2 if they ever hit the states in 10.
My steel is running great with a Sprinco and an 18 lb. Wolff. Good for all Underwood can offer so far.

Bumped for a quick update ....
Put another 60-rds or so thru my Stock 1. These were mid-range-ish 10mm loads, some old PMC 170gn factory, with few full-strength 180gn reloads, just to see. No FTFs, FTEs, etc.
Have a conefit guide rod and 20lbs spring in-bound from Henning. Will get the Wolff 22lb spring as well.
Right now, for me though, the main issue is the sight set-up.
The factory sights are a "
sorta-but-sorta-not" target set-up.
In other words, they're not ideal for targets or gun-games, nor are they practical for CCW use either. The front sight - apart from being too tall (causing POI to be too low) - should at least have been a white dot or tritium-type. That way, you could pick it up fast and easy against the contrast of with the black rear LPA.
Since no one apparently makes a tritium frt sight for the Tan Elite series pistols, I'll probably just order the .125H F.O. front sight from Dawson Precision and see if that raises POI enough to where I can adjust the factory LPA sight back down so it's not so elevated.
Can anyone with a Stock or Match 10mm pistol provide any input on Henning's frt /rear sight combo that uses a tall F.O. frt sight and the BattleHook fixed rear? The BH rear sight looks like it sits quite high and wide on the back of the slide. Ungainly looking? - just asking.

If I was going to CCW one of Tanfoglio's Elite series guns, the 10mm S-1 would be it. I prefer the DA/SA set-up, with the option for cocked-n-locked, over the SAO trigger of the Match. I admit, though, that the Match's contrasting blue slide over stainless frame is eye-catching, just as it was on the "standard model" Bren Ten.
On the other hand, the fully chromed Stock 1 most closely approximates the "Miami Vice" Bren Ten, which had a hard chromed slide over a brushed stainless frame. And, like the Stock 1, the BT was a DA/SA pistol.
I would pair Henning's .135 with his new adjustable rear whenever he offers it.

Per the lady I spoke with at Henning's shop, he no longer sells the f.p. stop, although he does offer a replacement f.p. for the Elite series pistols. That is advertised on his site.
