Title: Rock Island - What do you get for $400 more?
Post by: gcw16 on August 07 2015 12:46:56 PM MDT
To begin with I have a RIA 51991 Tac II (now called the Rock Ultra) and have been very happy with the way it shoots. I am thinking about getting one of the new hi-cap models. There is the Rock Ultra HC (52009) and the Pro Match Ultra (52000) with the Match costing about $400 more than the Rock. The Armscor website doesn't really give a lot of info. The Match has a 1 inch longer barrel and a rail. Both have adjustable rear sights but maybe the sight on the Match is better? The Rock has G10 grips but the Match has rubber grips which I would think would be cheaper. So what do you get for the extra $400 and is it worth it?

Just the long slide alone might be worth the extra. And holding about twice as many bullets?

What's not to like?

I have the 52009 model.   Have put a few hundred full power rounds through it without any issues at all.  That is so long as I use the magazine that came with it. I have 2 more mags that I ordered from them that are absolutely worthless without significant modification. Overall love the feel, looks and accuracy for the $. By the way the original factory mag will hold 17.
