Anyone know if the LAX new ammo is made by Starline? Just curious as I ordered some of their new ammo a while back and was surprised to see the headstamp is LAX, wondering if it good to reload or not.
What does the inside look like? If it has that step inside I'd say be careful. If it is like most other 9mm brass probably OK! 8)
LAX 9mm new is Starline.
The stepped brass is Freedom Munitions new.
Cool, I was worried about the stepped ones, but had not fired any of these yet! I thought I had found on Starline's website in the past head stamps they manufacture - I couldn't find it now (could have been an email they sent me to).
Just a followup, I asked Starline if they manufactured the "LAX" head stamp brass:
QuoteWe have sold a lot of brass to LAX, but never with the LAX headstamp.
But the brass looks ok, it doesn't have the step in it, so I'll give it a shot at reloading...
Maybe LAX went out on their own with Jagemann Brass company and paid the setup fee and purchased enough brass with their own headstamps... ::)
I was gonna say JAG too.
I just fired off an e-mail to see if they will provide an answer about their brass maker...maybe they will provide the answer. ;)

I did Friday when I emailed Starline, no response yet...
Here is the reply from LAX Ammo to my inquiry:
QuoteThat's great to hear you've picked up some of our newly acquired headstamped brass. At the moment we can only say that we are utilizing top quality materials from a 3rd party who machines this brass for us; All up to SAAMI specified pressure tolerances and all delivering the quality expected from LAX Ammunition. These rounds also all come with a 100% guarantee.
