Title: 38 Super Mags
Post by: Rooster41 on July 02 2015 04:42:41 PM MDT
Does anyone here have a 1911 in 38 Super and 10mm.  I am curious if the two calibers are inter changeable for mags.  While I was searching for this answer, I did run across Midway USA selling "followers" for both calibers in the same sales ad.  There are some Wilson Combat mags for sale locally that I could get for a pretty good price.  But the seller was unsure if they would work for 10mm.

Hey there 357sig, I happen to have both calibers and from what I can tell that mags fit both  1911s and cartridges fit mags.  I wasn't able to check if they functioned properly. Hope that helped you out a little.

Some mags will, and some won't.  I have CheckMate 10mm mags, and 38 Super will work.  I have, What I believe are Triple K mags 38 Super mags, and they will also work with both.  However, Mec Gar and Metal Form 38 Super mags will not work with 10mm.  Nor will Colt made 38 Super mags.
