Title: What's everyone's opinion on the Witness P (polymer)
Post by: hAkron on August 31 2012 09:10:57 PM MDT
Lots of chatter about the steel witnesses, but I don't hear much talk about the Witness P.  there's a Witness P Compact in 10mm at a nearby gun store and it has me curiously intrigued...anybody with first hand experience?

I have the steel one, but have never seen the P one.

I have never see a P-carry, but would definitely be interested, or would have been before I picked up my Glock 29.  Probably still wouldn't pass on one.

I'm intriqued as well.  However, I have yet to see one.

I held the one I was looking at.  It seemed like it would be uncomfortable.  I bought a Sarsilmaz K2-45...it's .45 acp and not 10mm, but it's a tack hammer and I don't feel bad if I don't find all of my brass.

I wish the Sarsilmaz K2-10mm were available, would love to try one of those out!

Is there really a 10mm planned, or are people mistaking the SAR K2-10 for a 10MM?  The K2-45 is .45, but the K2-10 is a 9mm HK 'inspired' clone.  People usually also mention that the 10mm version will have a 17 round mag which further leads me to think this is a case of mistaken identity.  As always, I could be (and probably am) wrong.

hAkron, I think you are thinking of the Sarsilmaz ST-10, which is a 9mm and has a very similar appearance to the HK USP.

The orginal K2 brochure and press release that EAA put out listed the K2 in 9mm, 40 S&W, 10mm and 45 acp.  Since then they have revised the the brochure to only list the K2 in 45 ACP.  I don't know why they revised the document, but I take this as a sign that the other calibers are probably not going to materialize.

Once again we 10mm owners came to the party but find out dance cards empty.

Yes, ST10, that is right.  Either way, I think the 10mm version is a pipe dream.

I think they are Great! I have a compact carry, with the 3.6 inch barrel. So far I have fired about 200 rounds, through 4 different magazines, and 3 different bullet configurations, all flawless and great accuracy for the size of the gun.

Six 10s what brand of ammo are you running through your P-carry?

The p compact (carry?) 10mm that I looked at seemed like the small gap between the bottom of the grip and the mag base pad might pinch like how a baby Glock can pinch.

Mostly my reload's. I have shot three different bullet configurations.
round nose lead
flat nose jacketed
hollow points
The lead bullets have been the most accurate.

I was mostly interested in power levels and bullet weights.  My Elite Match with a 4.75" slide eats anything.  My full-size with a 4.5" slide gets finicky about 200 grain max loads.

I was curious if the issue followed the slide mass in the Witness design.
