I need to find about 50-100 rounds of factory ammo for a shoot I have coming up. My handloaded ammo is not allowed. For those of you that are shooting a RIA 1911 what is working for you. I put in a 20# spring. The only ammo available in my area is Hornady Critical Defense. When I shot that stuff when I got my gun, I had four fail to feed (round about halfway into the chamber) out of 20 rounds. My shoot is Tuesday at 1500 hrs. So I will need to drive about an hour to get ammo from Cabelas. Not real good planning on my part. Ive known about this for a while now. Im not sure what Cabelas has instock, but I would assume PMC, Puvi, Underwood, Double Tap. Thanks in advance.
You might want to look at Georgia Arms, CCI Blazer or Eagle by Federal if you can locate some...
At Cabela's Sig Sauer or American Eagle. Your better shot is the weaker American Eagle.
Gander Mountain here locally had some of the Sig Sauer 180 FMJ. The price tag right underneath the box said $44.99 I asked to guy if he would match Cabelas. They never had before as the closest Cabelas is 50 miles from here. Today they said as long as it shows "in stock" on their website. $27.99 Well when I got up to the counter and they were rung up, the original price is $29.99 So I saved $4. I told them they should change their price tags on the shelving to match whats above it. I wouldn't have bitched about $4. So we will see how it works. They only bummer is I don't think I will be able to recover my brass.
I just received mine back from service. They replaced the recoil and mainspring. Recoil shows 20# and mainspring was 25#.
I purchased 3 boxes of the sig 10mm at Gander and went to the range. It shot very well.
Local price was listed @ $29.99.
