My oaths were to protect all while in the Army and on the job.
These groups seem to gain traction when a Democrat is in office, anyway this is what some people say about them.

Not my cup of tea, quit the NRA when they called me a boot jack thug and the NYS Pistol Association after I directly warned them not to go to bed with the GOP. For those that do not know the NYS GOP was just as guilty in creating the SAFE Act a anti gun law.
I will guess that Oath Keepers will continue to grow when Hillary wins.

The oath I took in the Army was to defend the constitution of the United States, not the government, not the people, not the politicians, not the IRS, and not the Federal Reserve.

I made an oath to uphold the constitution as a member of the military. I ain't joining any right-wing group of whackos.
I am 100% for ending the Federal Reserve and going back to the Gold Standard.

I would like to explain what lead me to make this post.
It was Memorial Day and I was contemplating those that sacrificed for me and others like me. They all took that oath. They subjected themselves to the control of others (superiors) to benefit us. To ALL that made that commitment... THANK YOU!!!
Many didn't make it home. Many died to "Protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America". They gave all and their families suffered from that loss. Remembering that is what Memorial day is all about.
I began contemplating that oath and where we are now. "Oathkeepers" arose out of federal forces confiscating firearms post Katrina. Yep, Republican administration. I think of other times too. Ruby Ridge, Waco... Those folks took oaths too.
At the same time I was in contemplation of all of this, there was a thread here about how many rounds we have on hand for when the collapse happens. I personally don't think the 20k rounds I have in inventory have anything to do with a SHTF situation. It has to do with what police, feds, and military do at that moment. My toys don't measure up to their night vision, air power, and tactics. If they follow superiors, I loose. It all depends on who's side the military lands on as to what the outcome would be. It all ends with what INDIVIDUALS follow their oath vs. what INDIVIDUALS follow unconstitutional orders from superiors. All the sacrifice prior would be for naught with a wrong decision from too many individuals.
I was disappointed to see this turn political. It wasn't my intention. I just wanted to plant a seed for those that have sworn an oath. WHAT ORDERS WOULD YOU REFUSE???
