Title: Sr9c thinness
Post by: Dave84 on May 12 2015 07:46:32 PM MDT

SR9 SR9c
Weight 26.6 23.2
Height 5.52 4.51
Length 7.55 6.8
Slide Width 0.92 0.92
Maximum Grip Width 1.18 1.18
Frame Width 1.15 1.15
Maximum Width 1.265 1.265
Trigger Pull 6.75 5.2

Pretty narrow slide and grip for a double stack. Not too many thinner out there I wouldn't think. Let me know if you guys are aware of some good thin doubles. I've heard that the Keltec P11 is extremely thin but that doesn't really qualify as good.

Kind of a long video but he makes some great points. Interesting to see how close it is to the PPS in grip thickness.

I find it interesting that the SR9c on Gunbroker is far below MSRP, and none of the ones currently listed have bids.  What is the general impression of this gun from those of you who own one (or an SR40C).

I had an sr40c, while it was accurate and handled good it was fairly picky on ammo. I took a big hit on trading it in too, they do not have much resale value since there is little to no demand for them.
I replaced it with a glock 23 that digests everyting its fed.

I own the SR40c and haven't really had any ammo issues with it. It has a nice trigger too. 2nd only to the PPQ in my opinion for polymer striker fired weapons. They can be had for around 400. In my opinion they are better than Glocks. Plus, just thinner too.

Mine did have a nice trigger, will give it that much.. but it had something go wrong with the trigger bar or something(cannot remember) and it stopped resetting after firing. It had fired only a few hundred rounds at that point. Ruger did fix it free, they replaced the entire trigger/striker assembly.
That and the ammo pickiness made me not really trust it anymore so i went to a glock, and i got a hell of a deal on the glock so i cant complain. I did not mind doing a little tweaking ( i cant leave anything alone really) to get the glock exactly where i wanted it, i changed the sights and some minor trigger work... im very happy with it. Its got a permanent home. I can live with the ugly to get this reliabillity.

Own 2 glocks and like them too. Just change the sights and put a ghost edge trigger connector and you've got yourself a Hell of a gun.

Actually my 23 with the cheap lone wolf connector feels a little better than my 20 with the ghost. Both have the same polishing job on their trigger parts.

I carried an SR40C for quite a while. Never had any problems with it myself. I really liked the way it felt in hand and it was plenty accurate. Had a couple of Glocks in that timeframe also and had no problems with them either. The Ruger definitely felt thinner for carry, but comparing them side by side there really wasn't much difference, I think a lot of it boils down to different grip ergos and the overall less blocky design of the Ruger. I don't know why there wouldn't be much demand for them, in my (admittedly limited) experience the SR pistols are perfectly fine weapons.
